indentromeo watched as rosie left with the baby, the paternal instinct in him wanting him to follow but he kept his ground, knowing rosie could handle putting the infant to bed just fine. besides, he was sure philip wouldn't be here if it was not something important business wise and even though romeo was now a dad, he also needed to balance his other responsibilities, which was the business. "so, what are you doing here?" he asked philip curiously but seriously. philip rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, "well, as you know, i moved down to florida several months ago. my adviser wanted me to go, says there were a lot of cases with the narcotic trade in miami and they needed more detectives on the murder scenes. but a few days ago, they arrested a man accused of murder. not sure the degree or the victim but apparently, he's connected to several murders across the state and even in multiple cities across the country. he has mob affiliations. tommy gallo, that's his name. anyway, the police raided his home and found multiple guns, some registered and some not. one of the guns they found, a machine rifle, they traced back to a gun shop here in the city. it was registered many years ago and it was bought an hour before your uncle's murder." at the mention of his uncle, lorenzo, romeo grimaced. he hasn't thought about him for a long time. "i looked up the papers for your uncle's autopsy, too, and information of the crime scene. the gun registered to gallo matches the type of bullets found in your uncle, along with the shells found at the crime scene. i wanted to be sure i could place gallo near the crime scene; turns out, he was also renting a nearby hotel room only a block away from the restaurant your uncle was at. i think he might be the one, romeo."
indentbefore romeo could speak, hosea interrupted. "we can't touch him. he's a made man. he's apart of richie's crew." at the mention of the crime boss, romeo had to resist the urge to recoil. "damn it! how come when everything is going somewhat nice in my life, something with richie has to pop up?" if tommy was a made man, he was untouchable. romeo would have to go to richie himself and ask permission to kill the man. that's how this made man situation works. you can't touch a made man unless you ask their boss permission to do so. and romeo would be damned if he allowed himself to grovel at richie's feet. this time, it was anthony who spoke, sounding angry. "i say we demand a sit-down and try and see if richie knows if tommy murdered my father or not. he has to know. how could he not know? i want that man dead, romeo." when romeo hesitated for a split second, his cousin scoffed. "are you serious? if someone killed your father, you'd want their head on a platter. this is the same deal." anthony looked upset and rightfully so. "i know, anthony. but if tommy is a made man, richie would never allow us to touch him out of spite for the bianchi family. he'll protect him. we-" he didn't even get to finish because anthony cursed at him before he marched into the home, not willing to listen to anything else romeo had to say. romeo sighed deeply, before looking at philip. "thank you for telling us this. i really appreciate it." philip smiled in response, "of course. i can't stay any longer but i'll come to see you again. i just thought you guys needed to know." he gave romeo his farewell before he went on his way, romeo decided to follow hosea inside. "i'll go and find anthony. he's just upset right now," hosea told him before walking off. now left alone, romeo decided to head to the nursery where rosie was probably still at. he had a bad taste in his mouth as he walked up the stairs and down the hallway, but he tried his best to swallow down the turmoil he felt as he made his way to the nursery, slowly opening up the door.

Rosie carried Sam up to the nursery, placing him down on the changing table. The nurses advised that she should change him before and after feeding, she didn't manage to do it before, but she could do it now. The changing went quickly, Sam being a surprisingly easy baby, and Rosie was soon carrying him over to his crib, dressed now in one of the onesies she had been given at the baby shower. She laid him down in the crib, beaming widely at the baby. It'd only been a day and Rosie already loved her son more than anything in the world. She rested her arms on the crib walls, just watching him wiggle and squirm, when Romeo came in. "Hey, your friend left already?"

indentromeo walked into the room, gently closing the door behind him. the nursery was a quaint little room, painted a darker tan color. lana had painted some animals on the wall a month or two ago, the woman being surprisingly artistic and surprising them all with her excellent painting skills. a lot of the decor in the room and toys were from the baby shower, the only things they really needed to buy were a crib, changing table, a rocking chair or two and some dressers to keep the baby's clothes and supplies in. they had finished the nursery about a month ago. it had been last minute because his mother had told them to switch the original nursery room to this one, because there was a sliding door on one of the walls that led to a master bedroom that had been a guest room for years. however, giorgia told them that it'd be easier to move from their old bedroom to that one so they'd have easy access to the nursery and even easier access to get to sam if they heard him crying. granted, he knew their son wouldn't be too keen on having a room directly next to his parents when he was older but for his early years, it was perfect. romeo came over to rosie, who was watching sam flail his limbs around. he came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her affectionately as he kissed her cheek. at her question, he was silent for a moment before he spoke, "yeah, he did. he's a busy man, he was just dropping by to tell me something important."

Rosie leaned into Romeo, "hmm, nothing bad I hope?" She questioned casually, knowing that was likely the case. It wasn't exactly common for house calls from a corrupted officer to be made when things were going swimmingly. Despite her usual convictions about Romeo keeping work information from her, though, she didn't really want to talk seriously about it. This was a happy day after all, with their son finally home, she'd rather keep the focus on the positives. "He's just perfect, isn't he?" She smiled down at Sam, who was gazing sleepily at the animal mobile hanging over his crib.

Rosie curled her hand around Romeos, able to read him well enough to know the thoughts warring in his brain couldn't be good. She wouldn't bring them up, not yet anyway. No mob talk in Sams room, that was her rule. She knew she couldn't protect her son from this life forever, not with who his father was, but she'd do everything she could to keep him safe from it for as long as possible. No matter wasn't. She laughed at Romeos quip, "I've already had your son, baby. You don't need to keep trying to charm me."

indentromeo couldn’t help but laugh at her response. “i’m not trying to charm you, i’m saying the truth. besides, what’s the fun in a relationship if i don’t try and romance you every once in a while like you’re the princess and i’m the madly in love farm boy?” he didn’t mind when he felt her curl her hand around his own. he wasn’t much of a romantic person, that much nearly everyone knows. he didn’t like when people invaded his space and if he wasn’t feeling good and didn’t want to be touched, he’d rip your head off for trying to do so. it was different with rosie, who was he was comfortable with and obviously in love with. he was glad they chose a normal name for his son because on god, the amount of romeo and juliet jokes he had to endure as a child was neverlasting and probably contributed to his irritation with affection given how absolutely sappy and downright lovesick romeo in the play was.

"Hmm, I think you've got the roles mixed up there, love." Rosie grinned, turning to face Romeo. She leaned up to press a kiss to his lips, arms going up to wrap around his shoulders.

indentromeo smiled as she turned around to face him. "oh, yeah? fine, i'm the princess and you're the stable boy." he returned the kiss she pressed to his lips before pressing another kiss to her cheek before placing another on her other cheek. his arms were still wrapped around her as he pulled her closer to him, leaning his head down so he could rest his chin on her shoulder. he could see sam asleep in the crib, blissfully unaware of everything going on around him. he was so quiet and peaceful, not at all the type of baby to cry at everything and anything.

Rosie laughed sweetly, "you'd look dashing in a crown," she teased, pulling away slightly so she could look at Sam as well, "it's still a little surreal that he's here, after all we've been through." She whispered, constantly enchanted by the sight of the baby in the crib, even as he suckled on his own thumb.
