Aah man! I’m sorry to hear that! Give him a hug for me. <3

Oh God, I'm glad they were able to turn things around. *hugs*MexiMoo wrote:
Ah man! Is that the same thing as a heart murmur??
I had two labradors, one was yellow and his name was bogey, he died at 13, I believe, Not too sure I was very young. My other was a black lab named Hercules, we don’t know how he died... he was fine the morning we left, cane back and he was curled up under his tree stiff and gone... he was only 6 years old, there was no animal marks, no wounds, absolutely nothing. both Hercules and Bogey had their paws crossed and looked very peaceful. Hercules was my best friend and Bittys best friend too.. she used to run out back just to play with him.
Here’s a old picture of Bitty and Hercules <3
They look cute together. Hercules had a sweet face.
Heart disease can encompass a lot of heart problems. She does have a murmur though, graded by her cardiologist to be a 5/6. He did add the caveat that he can hear her heart easier because she'd hairless. She has a problem with her mitral valve. It has thickened and two of the strings that attach it to the heart to pull it open when it beats, have broken. Her lungs are also starting to be compromised because of her heart disease, but he said we didn't need to start her on a med for that yet. She's one one med for her heart and some supplements. She's been coughing more lately though she also has allergies so I always hope it's that and fear it's heart heart/lungs getting worse.
My first dog, Gumdrop, was a Cairn/Fox Terrier mix who contracted lymphoma and died at age 12 so I'm especially nervous about Chloe's upcoming birthday. Gumdrop died over a decade ago. Treatment for cancer has evolved since, back then the only option for treatment would've been to leave her all day at the vets. We knew she couldn't handle that psychologically so decided to let her live out her last couple of months. When we went to put her down the vet gave her the sedative and she passed without him having to give her the drug to stop her heart. I was thankful for that, as it helped me feel like it was the right time.
They say dogs leave paw prints on your hear, and boy oh boy is that true. I wish the best for your Chloe and rest in peace to Gumdrop. <3 God bless and I’ll be praying for your miss Chloe.
