in the woods surrounding woodridge, california, lives a pack of werewolves and a coven of vampires. these two groups lived in peace with each other due to a treaty they've made.
but recently that treaty has been broken as humans are turning up dead on the packs land and members of the vampire coven have been found dead accompanied by the scent of werewolves.
only the two groups haven't broken their treaty; an unknown group had been sent to cause the two groups to fight and hopefully destroy each other so the unknown group can claim their territory.
will the two sides realize they are not responsible for the dead bodies or will it end in bloodshed?

the northern woods belong to the wolf pack while the southern woods belong to the coven. there is a river that separates the two territories. there is only one town, woodridge, near them which has everything someone would need without having to travel to the nearest big city, which they often do to watch movies or go to the mall.
the wolf pack lives in small cabin-like houses, most of the members share houses besides the alpha, beta and medic.
the coven lives in a large expensive modern mansion with multiple rooms for each member to have their own.

vampires: all have been bitten and frozen in the age they were turned. it's against their code to turn a child under the age of eighteen, punishment is death. there are some vampires that are considered "gifted" which means they have a special ability that others don't. they can survive on animal blood, but they will be weaker.
werewolves: they transform around their sixteenth birthday; negative emotions can trigger the transformation. the full moon affects them only that they become stronger and faster. the alphas word is law, breaking it will result in punishment. it is against their code to hurt anyone who a member has imprinted on.

current events;
in attempt to get the town's focus off the recent murders, the mayor decided that their halloween fair might be able to bring the moral up. the whole town is starting to decorate for it as it'll take place the week of halloween and is a big festival.
the vampires and werewolves are still hesitant to attack the other side but with more of their kind being killed, someone needs to make a first move before it's made for them.
