small dog imps that transform into like 6 foot fluffy nightmares

locked form has a collar
if their owner wishes it they can remove the collar and become a gigantic familiar of sorts
witches used them to protect their homes as well as deliver war notices to neighboring witch villages

unlocked form has horns, lots of fur, a long tail and whisps
their fire can be manipulated into whatever they need it, armor, weapons, or a source of light
can return to their locked form at will but the witch must place the collar for them to be "controlled/docile/domestic" again

any interest?
if not they'll just be a fun little species for me to mess around with
