ooh the guitar! i love the way it sounds but i am !! oof i just do not have the attention span to learn it – there are too many other instruments i'd rather learn first.
i play bass and uke and make the recurring joke that i won't touch anything with more than four strings :b

Hi, I play keyboard and guitar! I quit guitar 2 years ago but wanted to re learn it so I started a couple months ago. I was going to teach myself but decided that for guitar it'd be easier to get a teacher.
As for keyboard, I've been playing almost a year. I'm self taught and currently learning In the dark of the night from Anastasia. I wanna get into classical more but I need to motivate myself more somehow. I plan on getting a piano after a year or two.

I have a hardness 3 reed, and if I lower to a 2.5 I squeak a lot, but the sound is sometimes better.
2.5 also breaks easier...
Any suggestions on what to do?
Squeaking on a bc is usually caused by biting the reed or tounging too hard. I’d just make sure to use a firm embouchure and make sure your reed is set properly into the mouthpiece

difficult & FRUSTRATING THING EVER UGH I wanna join the marching band in my school, but im afraid
that its rehearsal schedule would clash with the schedule I already have for glee club
Oh yeah broski marching band was the best. You make friends that last for a lifetime and beyond and not to mention how fun the shows are. The days where the bd had the band out in he sun for 3 hours weren’t the best but you had people to complain too who would listen. It’s like so much fun however the schedule is a bit iffy. It’s a lot of time like I’m talking I only had Wednesday and Monday free because on Tuesday I had practice 6-9 and Thursday I had sectionals and Friday I had football games and Saturday I had competitions and on Sunday I had lessons. Not to mention how good it looks on a college application according to my acceptance letters 😉. If you love glee club then stick with that but I personally wish I could be in hs marching band again. It was a dream.

Nice. Glad I found a forum for musicians
Does anybody have a problem with
picks? Like seriously I swear they fly outta my hand like it's their life's mission. 🙄
It actually caused me to switch to fingerpick. Trying to regularly strum a guitar with no pick hurts but seriously would rather split my fingers than have another pick fly out of my hand. Their are tons of Guitarists who just don't use em, and I don't think I will either.. lol
Pick or no Pick? Tis the question ig.

Bass guitarist here, I use a pick! :3 I do have a suggestion based on my experience with picks though.
My coordination and strum power is much better with a pick, plus it doesn't hurt my hands and wrists nearly as much as playing fingerstyle. Always had an issue keeping picks in my hands too, ended up using a larger triangle shaped one. However it was a musician of I forget which band (Devour the Day maybe?) who inspired me to use one type of pick in particular ; D'Addario Duragrip.
I nabbed a 1.20mm at a concert near the front barricade, not signed or anything so I ended up using it. Realized it made picking 10x easier because of the grip on it. So I stopped using the old ones and now I buy the 1.50mm Duragrips. (Because it works better with bass strings.) They come in thinner sizes too. I'd advise checking them out.
