The best way to describe Thornbranch, is that he's a weasel. He puts on his best facade to lure in any potential allies, to charm his way through life, in hopes of guarding himself against any potential murderer. However, don't be fooled, he will turn around and stab you in the back if he feels as though you're no longer of use to him. He is viciously ambitious, brutal, and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He's self-centered and very rarely thinks about the wellbeing of others. If you manage to wiggle your way into being someone he has a soft spot for, consider yourself lucky. Yet, he still likely won't go out of his way to protect you, he just might be more honest with you. He's horribly clever and excels at strategy, always carefully planning his next steps.

Thornbranch's father, Eaglescreech, was killed before he was born. His mother, Fawnspeckle, was a very cautious and smart cat, all the while being oddly soft and caring for a Feralclan mother. She managed to raise all three of her kits (Thornkit, Bearkit, and Olivekit) to their apprenticeships. That, however, is when they left their mother's protection, and it immediately became clear to the siblings that they were no longer safe. Olivepaw was killed just days after she became an apprentice. The experience was the first to dull the brothers' outlook on murder. The pair worked hard to build themselves up. Bearpaw, later Bearjaw, became known for his brute strength. Thornpaw, later Thornbranch, was known for his quick-wit. Nonetheless, Bearjaw was killed later on in life. Thornbranch is now the only member of his family to remain, a fact that he takes in stride.
