[Ancient Frost]

~SUNCLAN~

Once upon a time, a cat from another clan watched her clan be forced into poor leadership, death, war, and near extinction. She left before she could see what would ultimately become of her clan. Angry at StarClan for the prophecy that led to that first cruel leader she created a new clan that didn't worship StarClan. She altered the warrior code to prevent that from ever happening again. This cat's name was Sunfur, she became the first leader of SunClan. Now, she is growing old and will soon die. She must choose a new leader.

New Warrior Code Changes
Leader chooses who will be the new leader if they are close to dying.
If leader dies first, the clan votes on new leader
StarClan doesn't exist
If leader is cruel the clan MUST overthrow them.

Territory is a deciduous hilly forest just outside of a city. The city has a stone wall that borders the forest. The camp is in a clearing and a river runs between two hills about 10 fox lengths away. The river starts at a spring at the very top of the hill but no cats ever go that far. The nursery is inside an old stump, leaders den is under 2 well-placed rocks, medicine den is inside a dense holly bush, apprentice den is in an old rabbit warren, and warriors sleep in a paw-made den of stone, leaves, and bramble

[Ancient Frost]

Sunstar stepped out into the early morning sun. The camp was quiet and she sat in silence for a moment before Leopardscar and Oceaneye. "Leopardscar, place take Ivypaw hunting. Oceaneye, I'll go with you on a border patrol."

Leopardscar groaned as he was given his orders. He slowly got out of his nest and went over to the apprentice den. "Ivypaw, we got hunting today. Up, up."

Forestclaw slept in a hole in the wall bordering the forest. She lept down onto the forest floor. and gave her pelt a quick wash before going to look for a morning meal. She knew she had to be careful. The clan cats would be doing patrols soon and she didn't want to get caught.

Cindersong padded out of the warriors den, stretching lightly. She blinked at the morning sun, enjoying its warmth for a brief moment before heading over to Sunstar, greeting the other warriors with some polite nods. "Good morning," she greeted her leader softly, "may I join in the border patrol as well?"

Sunstar turned to the warrior. "Yes, I've been smelling another cat lately. Might need back up if we encounter them."

Honeyleaf stepped out of the Medicine den and sniffed the air.
She means she smells another cat, mouse-brain!
She was playful, but smelled it too. Ivypaw ran out of her den, as fast as a rabbit.
Can I go too?
She had the brightest eyes and she was always hard to say no to.
Didn't Sunstar tell you to go hunting? If you want to be a warrior, you must fulfill your duties.
Her eyes dimmed as she slunk over to Leopardscar. They retreated into the forest and the patrol set off.

Leopardscar led Ivypaw downstream. The undergrowth got thicker as the river widened. "Here," he said, "let's split up a bit. Stay in this area though." He padded off into the brush.

Sunstar left the camp and flicked her tail for the others to follow. They resented the markers and everything was fine until they got to the wall. Sunstar crouched down. "Shhh," she hissed. Her mouth opened, nothing. She stood up. "Does anyone smell anything?"

Forestclaw's ears perked up. Someone was coming. She raced back to the wall with a mouse in her jaws. She lepted gracefully up to the top and looked around.

Rosestrike trotted out of the warriors den, with a yawn. The Siamese she-cat had woken up a few minutes ago, and was starving. She stretched, padding over to the fresh-kill pile, and picking out a small vole. Rosestrike sat down next to the pile, munching on the small rodent.

The large gray she-cat was sitting behind something near the wall, resting. Suddenly, she got up and looked where she heard the sound of voices. Her eyes turned into slits and her teeth clenched tightly as she realized the voices were SunClan cats. "Great... Must have caught scent of that other rogue." She murmured, her eyes rolling.

Goldenpaw arched his back and extended his claws, stretching as he awoke to the bumble of the Clan; he wondered what wound be in store for him today. Did Oceaneye already leave? He thought to himself, knowing that the answer was probably yes. He flopped down on the moss again, and sighed.
