Fillana

The rope and hook swing back and forth, the hook just skimming under the water, and after a few tries and near misses, Fillana succeeds in snagging the rope handle of the bucket. A slight pull upward confirms that the bucket is firmly hooked and will stay securely on the end of the rope while being lifted. The bucket itself is about half filled with water from the well now, and the rope and winch are easily sturdy enough to lift it to the top of the well again without too much effort.

"Yes!" Fillana says triumphantly when the bucket catches. She swiftly grabs for the rope and pulls up the bucket. Once at the top she unhooks the handle and places the bucket on the ground. Fillana swipes her hands together to clap the dust off then leans down to the bucket. With one hand she tilts the bucket just enough to let some water spill onto her free hand, then she rubs her hands together to clean them with the water.

"There, Slink. Some water for you and your scrapes from falling." She says as she picks the bucket up and offers to pour a bit onto his hands.

He was never the best at thinking up solutions, but thank goodness Fillana is there or Slink would have died of starvation. He watches her, maybe looking slightly dumbfounded, as she manages to snag the bucket and bring it up to where they stand. "Hooray for water!" Slink cheers in delight and, without thinking or considering manners first, he takes hold of the bucket and greedily sips from the rim.

He's probably taken a few gulps of the cooling liquid when he remembers someone else is with him, a someone who happens to be female. Abruptly, Slink pulls the bucket away from his face, his chin dripping with water, a sheepish blush just visible on his cheeks. "Erm. Ladies first," he says, and pushes the bucket towards Fillana.

"I don't have any germs. Just so you know," he adds helpfully.
