♤ marigoldbreeze is secretly a spiteful and bitter cat although she strives to play the part of a hardworking and earnest cat. she knows that she can use this to her advantage, trying to form "friendships" only to stab others in the back. she keeps herself emotionally detached, refusing to form real bonds and connection, for she believes feelings are weaknesses. marigoldbreeze tends to look down on whoever shows their emotions genuinely and freely, seeing them as weak and unable to control themselves. however, deep down, she is extremely insecure and in tune with how others view her. a low self-esteem contributed to her thirst for power because she believes appearing powerful and staying at the top ensures her safety and respectability. she wishes to be perceived as someone strong who deserves to be followed, for she hopes doing so will protect her from being murdered.

♤ born to a former clan cat named dawnspeckle, marigoldbreeze grew up outside of the clan. she was always rougher than her sibling, usually pushing him around and taking his food. although her mother scolded her, she seemed to have a naturally aggressive attitude. when her mother decided rejoining the clan was necessary for survival, marigoldbreeze found the idea appealing. finally, she could be around cats that weren't soft and sensitive like her family. she fit right in as an apprentice, eagerly accepting their way of life. however, she felt scorned and mocked, for many cats saw her as a coward due to her mother's decision to leave in the first place. this fed an anger deep inside her, one that only grew as she realized how weak her mother truly was compared to the clan. as her brother began to detach himself from her and hide away, she began to act snappish towards her mother, until the day she finally lashed out. easily killing her own mother cemented her decision to pursue the augmentation of her own power, and she happily shunned her brother for his cowardice.
