ok so ill be posting prompts for you guys about every few days to every week for lolo because i think its a fun way to get us together!

todays prompt:
do you dislike giving tricks? why or why not?

Ahhhh I always feel super guilty giving out tricks. I’ll only do it if the person visited me when my lights are off in previous years and even then it’s a ‘trick’ to revisit at another time. I think I’ve done it before when I had absolutely nothing on the person’s wishlist too, which in itself is rare because I have so many pets.

I don't dislike giving tricks; however, I don't really give them. I have lots of pets so even if I don't have someone's Wishlist pet I can give them something. Last year I gave over 300 treats and 0 tricks, and I'd love to get numbers like that again this year. :)

same here really, i don't believe i gave any tricks last year. i gave around 100-200 or so treats. speaking of which i have made my trick or treater, i just have not had the motivation lately to come up with a good story. with past years i mostly just made it up as i went on the actual thread without thinking anything out first, so i aim to improve my writing this year.

Do you think I should add some pets to my wishlist just for LOLO?
Right now it consists of some URs, some Warriors, and some VR Koi. I don't mind receiving any pets, of course, but I think there might be players [there were last year] who will just trick me instead, even though maybe they liked my story and costume.
But then again it feels a bit pretentious to put some random dog commons and uncommons on my list even though I don't really want them, just so people can treat me.
Thoughts?

I don't think I've ever sent out a trick in the last three years.
The way I see it, everyone tried their best to write a good story or put together a cute costume. Even if it's not the best story ever or not the elaborate costume, maybe English is their second language or they don't have many items. If I'm feeling overwhelmed I just don't open their messages and read them and send out treats later or the next morning. Sometimes I also skim stories because of too many messages or no time, but will still send a treat.

Yeah I'm sure you'd get tricks simply because some will not have anything to give you thats on your wishlist, and I've seen that people often do not want to give off-wishlist since they don't know if you'll even be interested in it. Thats where having hoards are nice (if they are fairly common pets at least). But if you aren't into that, I usually suggest adding pets you'd be interested in having, even if its only for trade purposes or for re-gifting. That way others can still have an easier time finding something they know you'll want, and the pets will still end up going to a trade group same as if they had gifted random things, which would be the only choice if they don't have anything on your wishlist.

I don't see it as pretentious. If you don't add anything to your wishlist most of what will be treated to you will be random pets because they can't give wishlist, which I assume would just end up going into trade group anyway. So the treats still end up the same way. And if you are worried about people who don't appreciate gifts being traded away, you can always leave a note on your trade rules or end of your story letting them know the circumstances.

Which costume should I use this year? I could do a fairy, cupid, an astronaut, a scuba diver, maybe even a doll or an ice skater. I'm leaning more towards cupid as I haven't seen anybody do that yet, but I wasn't sure what to do!

I think the doll idea would be really neat, though it's really up to you to decide. ^^

even if it's going to be trade fodder, I still would rather gift WL just because i know its something you want/feel like it may be easy to trade for something you need - personally if i dont have something on someones WL, I try to gift an older pet or a popular species or 2 in hopes that it helps them get something they want

I added a ton of hoards to my WL because it was only 3 pages long with a few older pets and a few recent outcomes i wanted more of.. so i added some hoards ive been wanting to start to give people some variety

I do t know if this had already been answered if so let me know but does anyone hav suggestions for mobile players to help keep track of both the people u trick or treat and those who Trick or treat u if so I would love some ideas
