When she arrived back to RiverPack's camp, she felt an unexpected surge of relief. Only now did she realize how much being around this many dogs at once had taken a toll on her. However, she didn't want to show the nervousness she had been feeling, so, instead of running off immediately, she sat down and waited for her patrolmates to catch up, taking the time to readjust the honey comb wraps she had been carrying. She asked her companions with repressed eagerness, "Is this where we part?"

When Reedpaw just continued to smile at her, she couldn't help but smile back, pulse picking up. He didn't even mind. He's so nice to me. Not recognizing the emotion she was feeling, she swallowed and hurried to catch up with Foxpaw, though she knew she wouldn't get to get too close because of her earlier mistake. Despite her effort to avoid further humiliation by moving away from him, she wound up falling naturally into step with Reedpaw once again. After a moment, she opened her jaws, wanting to say something along the lines of "Sorry for my earlier tantrum - I'm kind of just like that," but the words died in her mouth - probably for the better, now that she thought about it - as she noticed that he was looking upwards. Confused, her eyes followed the direction of his gaze, curious as to what he could be observing.

pipsqueak sat at the edge of the camp sorting some herbs.
did she enjoy it? no. was it hard work? yes. pipsqueak couldn't
complain. she was too small to fight for her pack. she just wished
she could have a better name and a bigger outlook. pipsqueak
gave a sigh. she sorted some of the leaves into one pile and threw
the old out. then after that she cleaned out all of the branches from camp.
she gave a pant. this was not easy work. especially because she
was a maltese. known for their small and fluffy breed. by the time she
was done her white pelt was now dirty.

Reedpaw saw Wildpaw look up at the sky as well, and laughed, though not mockingly. "I was just admiring the sky. It's so pretty, especially towards the end of the day." Seeing Foxpaw waiting for them, looking mildly excited, though like she was trying to squash it. Hearing her ask if they would part, Reedpaw shrugged. "I guess so," he said, feeling mildly disappointed. I wonder where Smokenose is...

Bearstrike followed him, his steps hurried since the headache seemed to be increasing. He greatfully gulped down the given herbs, dipping his head in thanks to the medic, ”thank you Inkfeather, I appreciate it” he said with a sigh of relief.

Although the decision wasn't up to Reedpaw, Foxpaw nearly sprinted away instinctively in response to his reluctant statement that the patrol could disband. It took a significant amount of willpower to wait for Froststar, the only adult and alpha, to decide. She glanced back, paranoid, at her honey wraps to make sure that they were still firmly situated on her back before she looked over at Reedpaw again, noticing that he seemed unfocused. Although she didn't know him on a personal level, she knew enough that she could guess what he could be thinking about: Smokenose. Ever since the young male had lost Willowwhisper, his original mentor, he had been guided instead by Smokenose. The very idea that Reedpaw had been forced to develop a connection to someone else after being another's close companion was...heartbreaking. On top of that, not even Reedpaw's new mentor was in good health; he had been getting thinner and thinner since RiverPack's exile, and Foxpaw had certainly taken notice, though she hadn't been sure of what exactly to do about it. Unable to help herself at that thought, she commented quietly to him, "Smokenose went fishing earlier. He might still be at the big lake, should you need him."

Note: Smokenose was just axed for inactivity

She tilted her head, glancing from Reedpaw to the sky again and studying it. "It's kinda nice, I suppose." She wasn't sure what else to say. Wildpaw had never found the sky particularly interesting, and she was in a bit of a sour mood again. When they arrived to camp, she sat a small distance from her patrolmates and waited for Froststar to give a command. While waiting, her mind began to wander - until she heard the name "Smokenose" said by Foxpaw. Suddenly, fear reared its ugly head. Wildpaw had seen Smokenose leave camp early in the day, and it was already getting late with no further signs of him. He had been as thin as ever, and she couldn't recall if he'd gotten anything to eat before going out. Wildpaw piped up abruptly in her worry, though she tried to force calmness into her voice, "M-maybe we could go check on him, even if you do know where he is. I mean, I bet he could use help fishing, right?" She hadn't wanted to sound too nervous in front of everyone, especially if this ended up being nothing, but her paw dragging a little too briskly through the soil belied any feigned serenity.

Froststar glanced over at Reedpaw, "Yes, this is where the patrol ends. Foxpaw you can go now." He said noting how Foxpaw nearly ran when Reedpaw said that the patrol had ended. "Wildpaw, I trust you enough to go and find Smokenose." He sighed as he realized he couldn't just send his apprentice alone in a coyote-infested forest. "Reedpaw," He commanded. "go with Wildpaw. I need to get back to camp and check up on everyone else, see if they are fine." He grimaced as he walked away. He didn't like Reedpaw very much, and he saw how Wildpaw, and Reedpaw spoke to each other. He didn't really feel comfortable sending them off to look for Smokenose alone.

A wave of fear crashed onto Reedpaw before he could block it out. I'm sure it's nothing. Maybe he was getting so many that he decided to stay there all day... But in his heart, Reedpaw knew that couldn't be true. Smokenose had been getting thinner, and thinner, and thinner ever since Riverpack had moved to their new territory, and Reedpaw knew why; Prey had been scarce, especially when they first arrived, and he knew that Smokenose had been neglecting eating. Giving his usual, cheeky grin, though it was for the first time in awhile, quite forced, he said, "Well, we shouldn't be too worried. Maybe he just found a really good fishing spot!" Well, if that didn't sound like 'false hoping' I'll eat a two-leg...

Bearstrike nodded, smiling at him, ”I was hoping to patrol with them but I woke up a bit later because I watched the entrance last night-those foxes have me paranoid.” he admitted sheepishly, shrugging, ”on the other hand, the fresh kill stock is getting low, I was going to go out and hunt before I swung by you but my headache got the best of me. If you’re free though-I’d be down to go take a stroll? You could collect herb soon you’re running low on and I can hunt?” he offered, sending him a friendly smile. He enkoyed Inkfeathers company, his aura was more relaxed and calm compared to the other males in the pack.

He made the beta a little sarcastic smile "you know, I am a half warrior so I do know how to hunt, so we can do that together...and hmm, I think I do have all the herbs I need right now, so need to collect any herbs for now" he answered to him. He thought for a moment "maybe we could see the lost leader and few apprentices on our way too? they're being gone for long?" he said thoughtfully.
