Quickleap smiled, though he was still somewhat irritated. Maybe he would go and express his anger to some more sparrows. "I guess you'e right, Creambloom." he jokingly sighed, looking deeply disappointed. "Well, I'm going to go out hunting again." Turning his attention towards Lupinpaw, he said, "Now, whenever you feel the urge to chase some squirrels, I'll gladly accompany you." He said it lightly, but Quickleap was actually being serious. He didn't feel it safe for him to just go wandering off, and if bringing him hunting whenever he felt the urge would solve it, so be it. I should tell Nightfire about this, though. As deputy, and mentor to Lupinpaw, she most certainly should know about what I offered him, just in case she doesn't approve...

She continued her search for Willowmist and Batears along the borders when she met the northern one without results. Part of her was really hoping that she would find Lupinpaw while she searched for the omegas and the other warrior, Quickleap; although she already had a task to do and couldn't afford to get distracted, Lupinpaw's absence was really starting to worry her. Plus, it's not as if SkyPack can afford to lose another dog. She halted in her tracks as she caught a familiar scent. Irritation clawed at her belly upon closer examination. Without a doubt, it was Lupinpaw's, and he hadn't been in harm's way. Rather, he had sneaked away from camp, again, with no indication of what he was doing, though Nightfire would guess hunting, from what she knew about her apprentice. With an exasperated sigh, she tore herself away from his trail, only to reconsider when she caught the scent of Quickleap overlapping Lupinpaw's. Satisfied with the excuse to find her apprentice and genuinely wanting to make progress with her job, she followed the trails, planning out what exactly she was going to say before she arrived. Nightfire knew that whatever she said would come out more calm and aloof than she planned, but she hoped that her scolding would come across this time; she had no more patience to give her apprentice when she had so clearly explained to him SkyPack's situation - not that she had ever had any to begin with. She simply didn't understand what would be compelling him to do half of the stupid things he did.

The omega sat with his ears twitching in a more shadowed part of the camp. He watched as one of the dogs left the camp. News had gone around about Lupinepaw going missing. What had happened to the young brute? He didn't know, though he guessed he left camp on purpose. He didn't know of any threats around here that could snag apprentices, so that was unlikely. His tail thumped the ground and he rose to his paws. Might as well see if there was anything he could do. Life as a omega certainly wasn't exciting, but at least he got to do something.

The tall she-dog broke back into camp with the small rustle of bushes, shaking her thick pelt out as she noticed the group of her packmates that she had followed the scent of. She wasn't sure if she was more annoyed or relieved as she caught sight of Lupinpaw, conversing with SkyPack's two young warriors, Quickleap and Creambloom. However, neither emotion was what poured out of her jaws as she approached. "So, I find you here now, Lupinpaw, after a day of searching," she said coolly, her eyes not properly portraying the anger she felt. She looked over at the warriors, temporarily ignoring her apprentice, and said, "I received orders to form a search party earlier, but, in light of recent events, it seems that that is no longer necessary. Quickleap, Creambloom, I'd like you to go hunting together for whatever you can find. I need to have a word alone with my apprentice." Tucking her haunches beneath her slim body, she sat down and waited for them to leave without saying anything else.

She made a long sight when Nightfire taked her border patrol orders back and asked her to join Quickleap to hunt something "sure...I guess" she said flicking her tail, turning to to the male dog "very well, I think I am joining you then," she said with a smile.

Quickleap saw Nightfire approaching, and as she coolly began to lecture Lupinpaw, Quickleap was somewhat relieved that they had stayed in camp. Smiling at Creambloom, he said, “Well, I think I caught scent of some pheasants down south. Sound alright?” Then, seeing Nightfire obviously waiting for them, he stood up, stretching his long legs. “Ready when you are,” he told Creambloom.

Lupinpaw looked toward the voices of his packmates. He was at a loss for words as they spoke and guilt washed over him. He felt guilty for making them all worry and for leaving camp without permission, again. He was about to accept Quickleap's offer and apologize to the two warriors when Nightfire approached. Immediately the young dog's muscles stiffened. He could feel the disapproval in her voice as she sent Quickleap and Creambloom away. I'm sorry guys..! He called to them, hoping they heard him. If not he would apologize later to them in camp when he got the chance.

Lupinpaw lowered his head refusing to meet his mentor's gaze. "I-I'm sorry for making you worry..I just wanted to help the pack. We were cast out for no reason after all! If we were stronger we could fight back... Lupinpaw trailed off trying to justify his reason for leaving, though he was unsure if would work. He was telling the truth after all. He pawed the ground as he waited for his ears to be chewed off by Nightfire.

She made a little odd look toward the male warrior "..yes sure.." she said silently, not really getting his words, they was going hunt yes, but that don't mean they could hunt the same kind of prey. Sighing she gave the beta and her apprentice a look before walked to get out of the camp.

Quickleap noticed Creambloom's silence, and decided that she probably wasn't in a talking mood, though when Lupinpaw apologized, Quickleap looked back when he was looking. He just wants to help the pack... He could kind of relate, as he and Creambloom walked away from camp. When I was an apprentice, I spent every bit of my free-time around the beech tree, catching mice. Quickleap forced Lupinpaw and his pup-hood from his mind, and re-focused on hunting. It was the afternoon; in the heat of the day, bigger game wasn't hanging around in the open, but birds were. He knew that towards dusk, all the ducks came out and swam on the lake, as that was the fish's feeding time. Alright then, perhaps it is not dusk, but, since it's newleaf, I may be able to get some eggs... It had been ages since the pack had had some fresh eggs. He knew eggs were, generally, what a fox would do, but Quickleap would gladly take a leaf out of a fox's book if it meant food for the pack. "I'm going to the lake, if you want to come along," he told Creambloom, before taking off at a brisk trot. The thought of eggs was all it took.

xxxxxxCalmness endured over the outskirts of camp. Blizzardstar's eyelids were getting heavier by the minute but she had to keep strong. She was the face of nobility of Skypack so the alusky had to stay awake at least until Nightfire informs her that every member of the pack is safe. Until then, the old trees and melodious birdsong would be her only companion.
