Hi! This is my tentative Headless Horseman costume; my plan is to have the horse dressing up as the horse part and having a mannequin/doll thing strapped to her back, with a paper mache pumpkin head for less weight.
Anyway! I wanted to post here to ask if you guys think it looks okay? The mane thing also comes in black/shadow and fire, and I'm wondering if one of those might look better.

That's a very creative and well-made costume! You did a fantastic job on it. ^^

Personally, I think the fire mane would work really well as warm colors tend to give off more of a "spooky" vibe than cool colors do. The fire mane's colors would also match the subtle warm colors in the backdrop nicely.

Have you tried the art shop forum? Around this time of year there's usually a lot of people with sales and stuff, though don't quote me on that, or you can use the images from our Sta.sh once the thread is up! You could ALSO search up F2U spooky images, as I did. As long as you follow the rules set by the artist, and make sure it's CS friendly, you're free to do as you wish.

I've been wanting to use Sirius as my Trick or Treater, but I'm also thinking about maybe a Lydia Deets costume or a fairy costume for some of my other pets. I'm really undecided.

Imma start playing around with Paint 3D on my computer and see what I can do with the stock images from there. Probably make any others smaller than this one XD

Rules for LOLO this year, no major changes to the actual rules, but they will be presented a bit different. Also wanted to post it so it is available for those getting ready so they can be sure they are conforming to the rules. Please ignore any links or things that look like they should be links, obviously can't link to a thread that doesn't exist yet.

As always, these are subject to change, but I'm not anticipating any at this point in time.

How to Play & Gameplay Rules:

1. Pick a pet: This will be your trick or treater. Choose carefully, as you will be using this pet for the entire game.
   .
2. Choose a costume:
   
   • You cannot use the pet's design as the costume; it must be wearing items.
   • No costumes that are bloody, gory, or disturbing and no character cosplays from media that is not CS appropriate.
   • It doesn't have to be a typical Halloween costume, they just need to be dressing up as something recognizable!
   • The pet's costume should cover a good portion of their body, not just include a few accessories.
3. Write a story:
   
   
   • Minimum length is 10 sentences. There is no max limit, but it is suggested not to make it so long you would need to scroll to read the whole thing.
   • The only restrictions on story content are:
     
     • You may not write about the door of the house you end at opening or your pet hearing/seeing anything inside the house or knowing anything about the character answering the door.
     • Your story needs to be family friendly (follow the roleplay rules).
   • Be as creative as you want as long as your story ends with your pet trick or treating at a house!
   • Say what your pet is dressed up as in the story if it's not obvious.
4. Put 'lights off' in your signature: This must be clearly visible before you post your form. The best place to put it is in the upper left of your signature as an image or in an easy to read color and size.

5. Post your form:
   
   • Your form must be approved before you can begin playing.
   • You will be messaged by a LOLO team member when it has been approved.
   • Never post a WIP form or repost your form.
   • If you do not receive a message within 24 hours notify a LOLO team member.
   
   
   
6. Start playing: Use the player list to find other players, find one who has 'lights on' in their signature and send them a PM with your story & trick or treater. The user will respond with either a trick, or a treat!
   
   • You may only trick or treat at each house once. If they give you a trick, that counts as your one time.
   • You must keep track of who you trick or treated with. Check this post for suggestions on how to keep a list.
   • If your ToT PM is not answered after 2 days, you may resend. Only resend if their lights are currently on.
   .
7. Turn your lights on: Once you are ready to receive trick or treaters, put 'lights on' in your signature. Users will PM you their own story, and you can give them either a trick, or a treat!
   
   • You must reply to all trick or treaters. If it is a trick you still need to reply. If your lights were off when they sent it, tell them so. You must reply.

I don't have any good items for costumes! If you don't have anything that makes a good costume, or are having trouble making one, you can get a free costume from people listed on the 'Costume Help' post.
I'm having trouble writing my story! If you need any help with your story, are having trouble starting it or getting it long enough, try reading the 'Story Help' post. You can also ask a LOLO team member for one-on-one help.

Thread Rules:

1. Only forms and questions belong on this thread. We do not allow any kind of 'bump', 'marking', 'lights on', ect, on this thread. All chat and conversation about LOLO belongs on the fanclub.
2. Do not answer gameplay questions. Leave these for a LOLO team member to handle, unfortunatly it is easy for misinformation to spread.
3. Report all rule-breakers to LOLO team members. This include people sending ToT PMs who are not on the list, people who have stories or dressups that do not follow the rules, and players without 'lights on/off' in their signature.
4. Be aware and considerate of other players. If you know it will be a while till you can answer Trick or Treater PMs, leave a note in your signature. If you have a small wishlist, consider adding more pets so its easier for users to give you treats. Consider leaving a note in your trade rules so other users know what kind of treats you'd be interested in.
5. Story or costume shaming is not tolerated. Publicly or privately shaming someone for their choice in story or costume, or the perceived quality of their story or costume is not allowed under any circumstance. So long as they follow LOLO guidelines, users are free to create the story or costume of their choice.

i was planning on joining lolo this year, but have been struggling with my costume. any ideas of what i can add? i was thinking about seeing how feathers would look on the body in place of a cape or something. the theme is a grim reaper-type costume.

That's a really cute costume! I'd say try to adding some darker colours around the back to look like a cape of some sort. You're welcome to PM Celozon if you need costume items, and PM any of us if you want some more one on one advice. You can also join the Discord and ask there, where we can and most likely will be able to respond quicker.

The thread is mostly completed and up now. Also linked on the front of the fanclub. There are a few changes, some of which or more visual or just rearranging the thread. Heres a quick list, if you're in the discord you prob already saw this.

• The 'how to play' and the rules have been merged into one. This was for two main reasons. It gives new players less to read over and less reading the same thing (much of what was in the rules was also stated in the how-to), and it gives returning players a quick refresher, even if you know the gist, its easy forget little details in 11 months. Overall it'll cut down on the thread size and how much you have to read.
• One new thing I've added this year to pair with the new rule setup, a rules checklist to go through if you want to make sure your story and costume are following all the rules. I thought it would be helpful to have and it gives a quick rundown of the most common things that might need to be fixed in a costume or story. The rules checklist is located on the end of the second page.
• The FAQ has been split into two posts, the main FAQ on the first page, and the Extended FAQ on the second page. This lets me keep the important questions in the spotlight, while being able to expand the total number of questions in the FAQ without weighing down the first page with too much text.
• Story help and Costume help has been moved to the second page. This was mainly to help cut down on the length of the first page. They will still be linked on every post for easy access. Now the first page of the thread can be designated as the most important sections that should be read, while the second page is designated for additional information, help, and extras.
• Since there was a lot of moving around and extra posts added, a 'full thread navigation' was added to the first post linking every post on the thread and what it is. All other posts will have the regular navigation links with only the main posts that are accessed most often.
