"Thank you." He nodded his head, his hawk feather swinging from the motion. He then sniffed for prey, scenting a squirrel. He found it nibbling on a nut. He slunk through the shadows making sure to stay quiet and upwind of the squirrel, He was able to get close enough to pounce with out it noticing him and he finished it with a bite to the neck.

Dawnpaw smiled at Flarepaw. "I'm looking for Marigold, primarily, and that usually grows by the lake, but I'm also keeping an eye out for Coltsfoot. They're both small, yellow flowers, but the petals are thinner and more bunched up on the Coltsfoot, and the Marigold looks more like a bright yellow cloud." Dawnpaw breathed in a lungful of air, but didn't smell either of the plants. Not yet, but soon...

She walked around looking for her brother, finding his scent here and there, but always there did come some unfamiliar scents too, which make her, even more, worry about him. Perking her ears up when she heard three barks, knowing immediately who was did then, answering with two barks, before making her toward where the sound was come to.

He looked after the small dog when she walked away to her human house, sighing he gave a look to the dead meal near him, there were still some good parts left, but he needed to find his sister. He didn't know what to do, he could not leave the dead animal here
during that time he got to his sister, he needed to report somehow to her where he was, but howling was not a good idea as it could bring who knows who to him. He needed a plan, so he decided to do something stupid and barked three times.

She nodded "alright so we will be looking for anything yellow," she said silently, watching around them as they got deeper into the forest. She noticed that the medicine apprentice dog smelled the air " so does those herbs...flowers have some different smells? I thought they all smells like a grass..." she asked curiously.

Dawnpaw thought about this for awhile, before answering, "Well, it doesn't exactly smell like grass... like, grass has it's own smell, and pines have their own smell, oaks have their own smell, but they all smell like... life, I suppose. They smell like life, but each one's smell is especially unique to that particular plant. Like, Marigold is much easier to find because of how strong the scent is. It smells balsamic, I guess, like a woody, sweet smell? But really, really strong. And the Coltsfoot smells a lot like... hmmm, I heard someone once say at a gathering that it smelled like 'vanilla', which apparently is a smell two-legs have in their dens. But, since I don't know what vanilla smells like, I would say it smells like fresh moss and melting snow? Like in the very, very beginning of newleaf." Woah, I haven't talked that much in... forever..." Dawnpaw could remember when Viperfrost explained the smell of life to her. It smells like all things living. Plants, birds, mice, deer, us dogs, and even two-legs have this smell. You are lucky; you've never seen a dead dog. But I have, and the moment they die, you look at them, and you think, 'they're gone'.

She beamed at Sampson, amused at his clear airheadedness. "Me too!" Her expression became playful and mischievous. "Hey, any adventurer is a friend of mine. You and I will get along just fine." Sharp ears perked up in interest at Chachie's words. She gaped at her and asked, "You visit the forest too?" Her long muzzle parted into an enormous grin, her tail scraping the ground. She had never met another doggiepet brave (or interested) enough to go into the forest! A question occurred to her suddenly amidst her excitement, and she said, "I bet you've seen the Packs then. Do you maybe know what happened to -" she paused, trying to remember the name after so long of not hearing it, "- 'SkyPack'? I...haven't seen it in a long time. I think that something might've happened to them." Her heart fluttered lightly as she remembered the young SkyPack apprentice she had seen sometimes when she intruded their territory, an irresistibly cute young male with a fiery, adventurous spirit similar to her own. Although he probably wouldn't have been happy to see her at any point, she couldn't help but admire him and miss seeing him all the time - after all, her first glimpse of him was of him defying authority figures by sneaking out. It was a great first impression, by Mischief's standards.

Duskpelt nodded, ”it sure is..the scent is fresh, have a look around and try to follow it, the best way to catch it is stealth. Once you see it you’ve gotta be quieter than a mouse, look where you’re stepping too, they’ve got sensitive ears and their big feet feel the thumps of our paws. When you get close enough you lunge, but if it runs you’ve gotta be ready to chase it, they don’t get tired fast. she told Eaglepaw, observing their surroundings and sniffing around.

Emberstorm nodded at Duskpelt's remark. She lowered her snout to the ground and sniffed. It led further into Thunderpack territory. Using her tail she beckoned the others to follow.

"Skypack?" She barked "oh, they ran away." She paused for a moment "why are you so interested in them anyway? The only ability they had was to jump high and be able to climb trees. I know that sounds pretty cool but the other packs have special abilities too. Riverpack can swim and catch fish, I believe Thunderpack is the 'higher' pack and are very good hunters, Shadowpack have dark pelts which make them good hiders and they are pretty strong too and Windpack are the fastest in the forest! They can also withstand strong winds too- I think." After she finished she asked "anyway, Mischeif? Was it? Want to explore the forest with me later? I can teach you some wild dog moves- ones I learned from my family when I lived in the forest."
