I was re-reading Lacuna’s hints, and also thinking of groundhog day, which can also mean this

When you say that something “is like Groundhog Day,” however, the accepted meaning is “a situation in which events are or appear to be continually repeated

Lacuna also mentioned this - You better hurry before I close the window and we have to go all groundhog day on this hint...

and also this - How’s it going, groundhogs?

and this -

You went to sleep and woke up... it's the same day[size= was 1](hint)[/size] again.

I think there is a loop here, just like in the movie, Groundhog Day. And if I recall, every night, the window closed, and every morning, it opened up again to the same day. And we have had windows opening and closing and references to timing, too. The loop in the movie, which happened on February 2nd, was finally broken when Phil, the main character, transformed into a good person and is finally worthy of Rita’s love.

The numbers have me stumped though.

I know they are supposed to be related, but I haven’t figured out how. I did find out that the 01001010 can mean not only the ascii ‘J’, but is a reference in Futurama, and FuturamaFriday on Twitter posted groundhogs on the moon -



But I have to admit, I am stumped. I can’t for the life of me figure out what these mean or how they tie into each other, or how they would relate to the above ramblings, but I figure I’d put out what I think and see if anyone else sees a connection. I am going to guess that Lacuna’s pup could be the maze pup. Maybe this is lacuna’s because of the maze patter that doesn’t seem like it can be solved. If you tried, you would just keep going and going.



It could also be this one sincei in the movie Bill Murray’s character plays golf and has to deal with a groundhog and when playing golf, plaid seems to be a common clothing choice



My next guess is one of these pups will grow up to be a groundhog.


I know I am probably way off, but ever since the first time I read “groundhog day”, I thought of that movie, and when Wolven Girl mentioned it, too, I felt I needed to really look at that angle. So there you go.

“Just keep checking your watch” - which is a reference to time. Maybe the numbers are representations of time. It could be military time, which I t hint was mentioned before.

2347 - 0039 = 11:47pm - 12:39am
01001010 - maybe the hyphen is missing, and could mean 1:00am - 10:10am
1917 - 2241 = 7:17pm - 10:41pm
1221 = 12:21pm

But what do these times mean, if these are really time references?

And, keeping in mind, Groundhog Day the movie is a time travel movie since Groundhog Day is in a time loop, which is a sub-genre of time trave, where Phil travels back. to the same point in time repeatedly. Maybe Lacuna’s pup has something to do with the time loop/time travel. though I would still love to see a groundhog pup

Okay, after reading Liddi's post, I started wondering if the movie is right way to go. I think the numbers is specifically moments in the movie that contains the clues. If the numbers had the ":" symbol, it becomes....

23:47-00:39 Time! Specifically the elapsed time since the movie started. One clue happens at 23 minutes 47 seconds. The other at 39 seconds into the film. OR it could be the time of day WITHIN the movie. But the second alternative only works if you know what time it is for a given scene. None of the numbers pass 24 hours military time.

01001010 (could be the letter J which may hint at something that starts with "J" in the film. Or maybe this is a binary form of counting. Which would equal 170 in decimal.

I do not own the movie. So you guys would need to fire up your DVD(or streaming film service) to see where these times are and what is happening in them.
