The female canine gave a triumphant 'wuff' as she caught herself a small bird, her tail wagging low. It was a hard catch, considering the birds small size and no doubt the swiftness to fly. But, Russette had captured it and that is all that mattered to her.

She padded along the forest line, finding a spot to stop and enjoy her small meal. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to hold her over until she could find something else.

Sampson

Sampson's ears perked up, listening to the other dog speak to him. He turned his loaf of a body towards her and scanned her posture before responding. "Oh, y'know! Just looking out towards the woods!" He responded in a friendly manner, pawing at the ground a bit.

"I'm technically not suppose to be out here, but there's a lot more space to run around!" He wasn't lying, really. Sampson did want to go into the woods, but, he wouldn't say that out loud.

She walked around looking for her brother, finding his scent here and there, but always there did come some unfamiliar scents too, which make her, even more, worry about him. Perking her ears up when she heard three barks, knowing immediately who was did then, answering with two barks, before making her toward where the sound was come to.

He looked after the small dog when she walked away to her human house, sighing he gave a look to the dead meal near him, there were still some good parts left, but he needed to find his sister. He didn't know what to do, he could not leave the dead animal here
during that time he got to his sister, he needed to report somehow to her where he was, but howling was not a good idea as it could bring who knows who to him. He needed a plan, so he decided to do something stupid and barked three times.

Mischief scraped at the back door of her house, whimpering in a high-pitched voice. She knew that this usually worked in getting Samantha to let her into the backyard through the large door when her smaller door was sealed. She wasn't sure why her door was closed right now, since that typically only happened when the fence was getting built taller and, as far as the pup knew, there weren't unfamiliar twolegs getting the job done right now, but, regardless, she wanted her daily time outside. Samantha came down the stairs, as predicted, but carrying...her leash? That was different. The twoleg tethered Mischief to her paw by her collar before she opened the door. As Mischief immediately tugged towards the fence to jump up onto it, as she usually did, Samantha gave a sharp noise of scolding before tethering her to a strange stick in the ground that Mischief hadn't noticed before. She sniffed at it curiously before she looked up to see that Samantha was already back inside the house, shutting the door behind her. Huh. She had to admit that she hadn't been expecting that. Folding back her ears in puzzlement, Mischief pulled away from the new post, testing how far the leash would extend. Unfortunately, she could barely even touch the fence, never mind leap onto it. She whined in confusion. Why was her twoleg doing this to her when she'd gotten out plenty of times already? It almost felt...cruel. She reluctantly sat down, huffing with her ears flattened, until she noticed two other doggiepets in the distance. They sat on the fringes of the city, one particularly short one staring out into the woods she loved to visit. She barked out to them, excited, though she didn't know if they were even close enough to notice her.

Sampson was confused for a moment. He swore he could hear another dog barking in the distance...by golly! He did! "Oh! Well, would you look at that," He stated, turning his head in the direction of the noise.

He couldn't see that far ahead, but he could make out sort of a silhouette. Sampson sniffed the air a bit, trying to catch the scent of the other dog. Sampson knew they were female, but that's about it. With his little nub of a tail wiggling, he approached closer, away from the thunderpath a bit, just to get a good look.

"Hello, friend!" He barked out to the other canine, happily pawing at the ground as he stood in place. Being friendly to other dogs was just in his nature, even if he didn't really know them well.

She wagged her tail in excitement when one of the strangers approached, inhaling the unique scent he carried with him. "Hello there!" Instinctively, she tried to jump up onto her fence again, but was stopped by the leash tethering her to the wooden post in her yard. Annoyed, she asked the stranger, since he was older and may have had more experience, "Do you know why I've been leashed today? I usually...well, always get free reins."

She studied them, young, probably around 6 moons, definitely a girl by the smell of them, also smells a bit like forest, she has leash, so she is a Doggiepet but has been in the forest recently. "Maybe your owner could smell the forest scent on you and decided to keep you locked up?" She barked calmly, coming closer to the dog she had never seen before. "Well, my owners are asleep.." She half-spat the word owners like it was like a foreign language to her, foreign and rude. "They usually call me inside soon, but anyway my name is Chachie." She glanced at the other dog, then to the she-dog.

She enthusiastically sniffed at the other doggiepet when she, too, approached Mischief's fence. She returned her introduction, yipping, "I'm Mischief! And I don't think so. She wouldn't do that to me." Her smile faltered a bit as she considered the thought for a second, but she continued on moments later. "I mean, I've gotten out plenty before, and she's never cared - uh, not enough to tie me up, anyway." Her ears flattened as she asked bluntly, "Do your twolegs tie you up when you get out?"
