Akira shook his hands, feeling the leftover buzz in his fingertips. He was expecting more of reaction from Raven, but it was clear that she wasn't that kind of person. It was understandable though, knowing how big his ego already was. The dummy laid in pieces, slightly smoking. For a moment, the corner of Akira's mouth lifted and he admired his work. It wasn't intentional, but he just couldn't help but feel proud. He had come a long way since leaving home. Some part of Akira's mind hoped that his parents would be proud if they could see him. If only that was true. They'd only be afraid of what their monster of a son had become. Not even his loving sister would praise him for his hard work. No matter what he did, Akira felt like no one would ever really be proud of him. He pushed the thoughts away and sighed. Such trivial things to fuss over. There was no point in going down that path again. "Well putting on a show is more my thing." Raven looked like the silent type which wasn't bad, but it just wasn't his thing. "It's a waste of time really. Trying to find love here. None of us really deserve it right?" He chuckled as he sat down on the cold metal bench.

Akira laughed, dropping his head into him palms. "Yeah I guess I am a bit of a show off. It's not always intentional." A sigh escaped him mouth, slightly grinning at Raven. "My powers don't exactly let me be stealthy though. I'm basically a walking firework show." Akira sometimes wished he could be the type to hide in a corner, not being noticed. But because of his bad reputation, everyone knew who he was. The troubled boy with a bad temper. The boy with the golden sister who does no harm. There was more to him than people could see, nor would they want to see. To everyone else, the only emotion he could show was anger. It was such bull though. "You're close. It was my roblox girlfriend. Turned out to be an 11 year old boy. I was heartbroken for months." Akira could barely keep a straight face. "I'm curious, have you been here long? Because I don't think I could forget a face like yours." He unintentionally flirted, mostly out of habit.

xxxxFlo moaned softly as her mind caught up to her body's rousing. It wasn't light or anything, and she hadn't set an alarm, but she could tell that it was too early to wake up - largely because she had woken up, and no-one had tried to do it for her. There was only one way that could be the case.
xxxxShe knew herself well enough - thanks uni - to know she wasn't going to get back to sleep, and slowly, reluctantly, forced her legs to swing off the bed. Her eyes scanned the floor - and there it was, a solid line of shadow between the edge of the bed and the bathroom. Her powers were extremely useful for that stage in the morning when you were simply too sleepy to walk in quite a straight line.
xxxxThe easiest way to get past that stage in the morning was coffee. Which meant breakfast was only the next logical step of the day.
xxxxFlo made quick, well-practiced work of picking an outfit and doing her makeup. It helped a lot when most of your clothes were the same colour - black.
xxxxFlo was not particularly familiar with the place yet, and it was enough of a rabbit warren that pure guesswork or a good sense of direction would not have been enough, even if Flo had had these. Instead it was trial and error, and by the time that Flo arrived in the kitchen, at last, she was done with such frustrations for the day. If truth be told, it had almost been time to give up on the coffee. But she'd made it, and she was going to get that coffee if it killed her.
xxxxThere was a strange smell as Flo entered the kitchen, and the loud whirring of a microwave. She was most definitely no chef - you just had to ask her babcia about that - but she did at least have the sense to know you weren't meant to microwave sandwiches, and she wrinkled her nose very slightly and very momentarily. There'd better be a good excuse for that. Her fingers tapped slowly along the counter as she walked past, trying to remember where the equipment she wanted was, but, alas, she'd really not been here that long, and it was still far too early to try to force herself to actually remember, and there was a perfectly good human (and really the dressing down wasn't doing anything to stop Flo's observant eyes) only a few years younger than her right there. Flo gave a tiny huff of irritation - why couldn't the kitchen be labelled properly? - and turned to face the girl, really not caring if she startled the younger person, or who they were right now. She could fuss about pleasantries once she felt less like a zombie. Not that she wasn't sort-of a zombie, come to think of it...
xxxx"Judging by your choice to use a microwave on your bread, you probably have culinary expertise roughly paralleled to the stubborn chefs on Kitchen Nightmares," A great first impression, that might have been slightly less snarky if it weren't officially - precisely - Stupid O'Clock (in Flo's scholarly opinion), and if Flo had had coffee already, "But I need help finding some stuff. Coffee powder, coffee pot... And if your suppliers have a single brain cell between them, fresh food to actually cook, and not just whack in the microwave." She shot the whirring box a hard look. "That's assuming that it's a self-service type deal. It is self-service cooking, right? I'm not suffering through waking up every day just to have to take a ladle of froot loops out of a box that looks like Mr Moggles got stuck in for a week, and then get stuck with sad soggy plastic pretending to be egg." Flo's eyes turned back to the cupboards and shelves lining most of the walls as soon as her snark was done for the moment. Was it unreasonable to hope the microwave-sandwich was born entirely out of it being early, rather than a serious culinary choice?
OoC. Thought I'd go for the charrie not being interacted with first, so as not to interrupt the very middle? Make sure every character's involved and don't make a scene suddenly make a ton less sense is probably a good choice, idk
Also, this is significantly longer than where I was aiming, like, about 3x as much, but... I guess this is fine?

Rosie leaned against the counter, the scent of her breakfast sandwich reaching her nose. Even if the smell was off, food was food and that would have to be enough for her. She missed home cooked meals and sweet snacks. Sometimes, she considered sneaking out just to go find a nearby store to stock up on snacks. And even though Rosie was one of the higher ups that was aloud to go outside, she didn't want to abuse the trust they gave her. The only time she'd sneak out was to enjoy the crisp fall air. Those days were nearing, and she couldn't wait to see the leaves fall off of the trees.
Rosie looked at the microwave clock, only 30 seconds left. Her stomach growled in anticipation as the numbers went down, but as the seconds passed, a girl appeared behind her, commenting on her choice of breakfast. "Unfortunately, this isn't a five star restaurant so we have to make do with what we have. I'm too tired to put in effort to actually cook today either." She pulled the door open and took her sandwich out, slightly burning her hand. The cheese melted over the edges, dripping onto the napkin it was placed on. "We have responsibilities, so there are people are assigned cooking and serving. It's at a set time, so we're both a little early." Rosie took a big bite and sighed. Utterly disappointing as expected. "Here." She tossed her food aside and walked over to the pantry, grabbing all the things needed for coffee. "Coffee maker is right over there." Rosie gestured with her chin to the counter top across from them. "I'm Rosie."

xxxxBeing too tired was about the only reason Flo could understand for willingly microwaving bread. Flo could definitely understand strange decisions coming too early in the morning.
xxxxShe rolled her eyes as the food situation was actually described. "It could be five star. Look at this place. This much space, this much stuff? Just need to pour radioactive waste on a chef." Flo looked over the sandwiches being removed, and decided to hold her tongue. What sort of madman microwaves onto just a napkin? What a waste of perfectly good cheese! If she got served that, she might just actually fulfil her suggestion for improving the catering.
xxxx"Those cooks had better be assigned on skill." It was a sort of venomous tone that came out as she said that, and the microwave got another hard look. 'I'll definitely be acting on it if they aren't' was what came across, and while she meant that she'd be using her powers to sneak out and get her own - better - food, if someone didn't actually know what her powers were, it would probably seem far more dangerous of a tone. "If it really is bad cereals in battered, disgusting boxes, there'll be regrets. Largely regarding whichever restaurant's head-chef I mutate."
xxxxFlo gave a rare genuine smile towards the girl, for directing her to the coffee. She got to work on the task pretty much instantly, measuring out the coffee, taking the lid off the sugar.
xxxx"Flo." She'd got plenty of practice setting up her coffee quickly over her college years, and she was done with that before she continued. "What responsibilities are they going to attempt to foist on me, then? Is it assigned randomly? Abilities? Interests? 'Cos I've got interests in, uh." Flo flicked her head slightly to one side, in a cheeky way, glancing across at Rosie. "A few things, including not being stuck with the floors or the toilets." Flo turned, leaning back against the counter, looking across at Rosie as she waited for her coffee.

Rosie took another bite of her sandwich, which was still cold in the middle. It was a sad excuse of a healthy breakfast. "The main purpose of this place is to provide safety. Amazing food isn't a top priority. It isn't bad though. Breakfast is usually eggs, toast and bacon. Ya know, the basics." Rosie ran her fingers through her hair and yawned. She deeply regretted getting up so early. The day had barely started and it already felt like she had been up for an eternity. Maybe she could squeeze in a nap somewhere in her busy schedule. Not likely though. "Careful with those threats. If others hear you, you'll definitely be snitched on. The higher ups wouldn't be happy to know that they took in a bad egg." Rosie looked down at the floor. Flo seemed to have a lot of concerns about the food here. Thinking back on it, when Rosie had first gotten here food was the least of her worries. She was mostly focused on keeping her brother safe, but each person is different.
"Responsibilities are given out after you've been here a couple of months. They usually like to observe newbies to see if they'll be a danger to anyone else here. If you are, you're outta here. They also watch to see what you'll be good at. That's how they assign it."

Raven-Super strength and speed-Tags: Akira
Raven was a bit surprised by the boy's reaction to her teasing. She expected his pride and ego to shine through, making him defensive and snarky. Instead he seemed to become more, genuine? The last thing she expected to see from him was sincerity. The sight of it was confusing...and almost refreshing. Raven felt her shoulders relax, one wall of defense beginning to lower. Maybe she didn't have to be immensely cruel with him. Maybe mildly wicked would be acceptable. Raven struggled not to chuckle at his joke, a bit of air rushing out of her nose in a small noise of amusement. He asked about her time there, making another blatant attempt at flirting that Raven slightly prickled at. "I've been here for a while. It's just that unlike you, I tend to stick to the shadows. I'm practically nocturnal, so while I know everyone here, not many know me." She figured she wouldn't get much training done as this seemed to be settling into a long conversation. Longer than most she'd had so far in the bunker. She put a jacket on over her workout clothes and pulled the scrunchy out of her hair. Her midnight black locks cascaded down her back, curling slightly at the ends from the moisture of her sweat. She brushed a strand out of her face and crossed her arms. "For example, I've heard you're a bit of a ladies man. And you really are a comedian if you think you're gonna add me to your list of conquests."

ππ π£πππ|| I had been in the bunker for a while now, too afraid to leave my room. I'd packed and unpacked my things a million times, organizing them in new ways just to avoid going outside. Was it right for me to leave my parents to come here? Would I ever see them again. I shook my head wildly, chestnut brown hair sweeping across my eyes. I need to get out of this hole I've fallen in. I need to talk to another human being or I'm going to lose my mind. This place is supposed to be a sanctuary, so why am I paralyzed with fear? Come on, You can do this. I'm not a coward, I'm not even scared of people. My brain just royally sucks with change. Taking it one step at a time, I picked out an outfit. My armor for the day. I chose an oversized grey tshirt, the fabric looking worn with a slight rip near the collar. The shirt was a bit long, hanging mid-calf. I cuffed the sleeves and slipped on a pair of straight black jeans. Finally, I grabbed a pair of yellow hightop converse, hopping around the room as I attempted to pull them onto my feet and over my ankles. Time to force myself out of this room. I pushed the door open with force, causing it to swing so wide it slammed against the wall behind it. I jumped at the loud sound, running my hand through my hair anxiously and then craning my neck out the door to look down the hallway. Did anyone hear that?
