I have been watching anime for over 13 years now and have grown to love it.
Every time I watch a new one, I grow to love it even more. One of my best friends showed me Fruits Basket and I was officially hooked. Fruits Basket wasn’t technically my first anime, but that and Naruto was what really got me into it.
Just a few of my favorites are One Piece, Fairy Tail, Hunter X Hunter, Demon Slayer, Soul Eater, Black Butler, Tokyo Ghoul, Akatsuki no Yona, Kamisama Hajimemashita, Spy X Family, Classroom of the Elite, One Punch Man, Maid Sama, and of course, Fruits Basket (now the new one).
Now, I'd like to hear your stories.

A friend of mine actually got me hooked on an anime called Angelic Layer. It was the first ever anime i ever watched, it's actually pretty good. I quickly got into Naruto and then i definitely got obsessed with anime after that. I have currently seen at least one episode of about 100 anime. 5 of my favorites are One Piece, Naruto, Black Clover, Attack on Titan, and Fairytail. There is also My Hero Academia.
For those who are just starting to get into anime, here are a few good ones:
1. Orange
2. Say "I Love You"
3. Tokyo Ghoul
4. Kamisama Kiss
5. Fruits Basket Old/New
If you want to know about more, feel free to message me!

What got you into watching anime?
I watched some of the 4kids stuff on the cw on saturdays as a kid, so i naturally got into it
How long have you been watching anime?
What are some your favorite anime?
Planetes, Astra Lost in Space, Your Lie In April, i think there's a few others i just can't name all of them on the top of my head
Do you also read Manga?
No, but i hope to!
Have you ever done cosplay?
Nope
What are some good recommendations for those just starting out?
Anime is basically as large of a genre as something as literature and western animation, it's too large of a medium to just recommend one anime. It just depends on what you want to see. I recommend something that sounds interesting to you to start. Just don't go into the nsfw stuff as your first choice
What’s your favorite genre of anime?
Not really sure yet.
Do you watch dubbed or subbed?
It usually depends on what version i hear first, but a lot of the time i watched subbed

Can't believe that I missed this thread!
What got you into watching anime?
I had been curious about anime for quite a while back in 2016, so I decided to look up a generic Top Ten list on anime, and started on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
How long have you been watching anime?
I've been watching anime since autumn 2016, so three full years.
What are some your favorite anime?
My absolute 10/10s are Ashita no Joe S1 & S2, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Others I love include Fate/Zero, Kino no Tabi (2003) and The Disasterous Life of Saiki.
Do you also read Manga?
Not as much these days, but I still occasionally read some manga. Examples are FAKE, PMMM: The Different Story and basically anything by Junji Ito.
Have you ever done cosplay?
Nope. I'm on a pretty short budget.
What are some good recommendations for those just starting out?
Depends heavily on their preferred genre. If they're a fan of dystopian or historical settings I would recommend Shinsekai Yori or Kino no Tabi. If they like anime that look silly at first glance, but actually contain much darker elements, that's Madoka Magica or Punchline, or if you prefer the gorier side of mystery/horror anime; Higurashi (Though I heavily recommend the VN before the anime) .
If they find themselves drawn to action anime I would recommend Fate/Stay Night:Unlimited Blade Works and One Punch Man.
What’s your favorite genre of anime?
I prefer the horror, mystery and action genres. I can sometimes enjoy slice of life like Tamako Market and ARIA.
Do you watch dubbed or subbed?
Both! If there's a good dub for the show, I will most likely give it a shot. I do like watching anime with subs as well.
Feel free to PM me if you'd like to chat.

Have you watched any older sports anime, like Ashita no Joe, Slam Dunk or Hajime no Ippo?
