Dandeliontail woke up with a loud yawn, and breathed in the morning in. Even with his poor senses, he could tell something was wrong. He jumped on his paws and walked out into the clearing. It seemed like only Darkpaw and Wolfscar were up, peering at something fowl-smelling n the middle of the clearing. He padded up to join them and peered down. The sandy floor was covered strange bloodied patterns, looking a lot like some sort of map. And on top of this all there was a... honeycomb? "I think it's a map?" Dandeliontail said, with uncertainty in his tone. "Or at least I think it is... I don't know, who ever drew it did a pretty poor job" he added. He stood nervously above between the two other cats, his tail swishing back and forth nervously. "Maybe we should follow it... Or maybe two of us can go and one of us can stay behind and tell Harrierstar or Skyheart... in case it might be a trap or something..." he suggested.

Littlepaw- no, Littlemouse had been wondering about the past few days. Yes of course he was proud of his rank now, but...he didn't feel that he earned it. He was just given it due to being short on apprentices quite frankly. With that, he wondered if he was made for such a role. It was bothering him. Stretching out his haunches, the black tom got to his paws as he fixed up his fur from moss. After that, he padded out of the warriors den to see Dandeliontail and Darkpaw talking about something. Not exactly sure on what since, well it was quite an empty clearing, he padded over. "Morning Dandeliontail, what-" the newly made warrior paused as he noticed the strange striking smell coming from the spot. Looking down he saw the strange trails of blood scattered around in strange ways and with...was that a honeycomb? "Ugh- that just smells foul and creepy-" The cat mumbled if he could, "What is this, Dandeliontail?" he asked the elder, respecting his duty of a elder rather quickly.

Minnowfur was... conflicted, to say the least. On the one hand, she was excited to be a mentor - but on the other, she did not feel at all ready for it. How could she, a warrior of just a few suns, possibly hope to train and protect an apprentice in this time of trouble? She had never doubted her leader before, but now she felt an irrational anger at Harrierstar for bringing Darkpaw and Cypresspaw into their apprenticeships when there was so much danger afoot. After all, no number of apprentice or warrior ceremonies were going to distract the clan from the murders; how could they celebrate when there was so much to mourn? Frustrated and prickly, and not wanting to inflict her new apprentice with her bad temper, Minnowfur padded over to where Littlemouse, Darkpaw, Wolfscar and Dandeliontail were gathered. Dandeliontail's wisdom always put her at ease, and she wanted to congratulate Littlemouse on reaching warriorhood, no matter her own opinion on the timing.
However, seeing the expression on her clanmates' faces and smelling blood in the air, she realised this was not the time for congratulations.
"What's happening?" she asked, already running through her head who she hadn't yet seen that day, who might be the newest victim of this war.

Littlemouse flicked an ear as he heard the familiar voice of Minnowfur. He wanted to still congratulate her for also being a warrior, but he remembered this was already serious as it was. "This obviously isn't good."He said simpily with a mournful expression, "I don't know, I just got up and noticed Dandeliontail and Darkpaw by this weird blood thing. It looks pretty- well, not really a great job at all and it smells foul." The cat attempted not to gag as he explained with a shiver. How could such cat stand this? They must be crazy!

Dandeliontail looked up at the two new arrivals, both looking shocked at the mess on their camp floor. "As I said to Darkpaw and Wolfscar, it's a map." he replied dryly, not being too happy to repeat himself. "It's a diagram of our territory... I suppose. And if we follow this trail marked here in blood to the honeycomb, we'll find something." he explained motioning around the drawing with his paw. He sat back up and studied the map intesly. "What I suggest is for us to study this map, follow it, and find what's at the honeycomb. Though, one of you stays behind and wakes up Harrierstar or Skyheart or whoever is supposed to be in charge of this clan and have them organize and send back up in case this is a trap." he explained, eyes still fixed on the map. Before anyone could reply, the large white tom looked back up at started heading slowly towards the camp entrance. "Understood? Alright, you guys choose who stays behind so we can get over and done with this before sunhigh" he said, cocking his head back around to face the others.

Minnowfur glanced nervously between the 'map' and her gathered clanmates, avoiding Dandeliontail's unimpressed gaze. This didn't feel like something that could happen in Thunderclan (or any clan, really, except maybe Shadowclan?) and it was made all the more frightening by the fact that, as Dandeliontail pointed out, all their leaders were missing. She felt like her clan was falling apart, and it scared her. But she was a mentor now, and needed to keep a brave face even where her heart failed.
"Darkpaw, why don't you stay and run to tell Skyheart and Harrierstar? You're probably the fastest," she mewed, praying to all of Starclan that a little flattery might convince Darkpaw to stay at camp. She doubted it would work - it certainly wouldn't have if she were in his paws - but she couldn't help but picture him as he was a few moons ago, stumbling about the nursery on stubby paws. She wanted to keep him safe, even if she wasn't entirely sure that keeping him in the camp could even do that anymore.

Darkpaw glanced up at Minnowfur and nidded. "I'll tell Harrierstar," he meowed, quickly moving towards the leaders den. "Harrierstar?" He called, claws seating and unseathing nervously.

Minnowfur breathed out a sigh of relief as Darkpaw ran to tell Harrierstar, and studied the map on the ground with renewed intensity.
"It looks like we need to leave camp through here," she meowed slowly, gesturing with her tail. "And then continue through the forest until we reach..." She trailed off, not wanting to put to words what might await the clan at the end of the trail, where the sickly combination of blood and honey had pooled and congealed. Unable to continue, she glanced down at her paws, hoping the others would think she was merely deferring to Dandeliontail's authority rather than scared out of her wits.

xxharrierstar flicked his ears when he heard a young voice call his name. he blinked and raised his head, spying the newly-apprenticed darkpaw at his den’s entrance. harrierstar got to his paws, unable to hold back a yawn. ”yes, darkpaw?” he mewed. only then did he detect the nervousness in darkpaw’s demeanor. dread filled the leader’s body. he knew what that meant. ”what happened?”

Darkpaw glanced back to where Minnowfur and the rest of the crowd of cats had gathered. "I found a strange item in middle if camp," he explained, looking back to his leader, trying to stay calm.
