Uh, hi, I'd like to introduce my dog, Pepper. Center of my world.

We got him from a breeder who had a lot of accidental double merles. We were smart and watched out for the signs. Pepper has some behavioral issues. He's a sweetie with humans, but is aggressive to any animal bigger than him. (aka tries to pick fights with staffordshire bull terriers. not saying i hate them but still thats not smart, pup.) He's three years old and will turn four in November!

I haven't posted here in a long time, but tonight my dog got sick. The threw up a big amount so we put her in the playroom, which has hard floors (easier to clean), the door to the backyard and the dog kennels. Well tonight, Penny kinda scared me because she hardly moved for about 30 minutes after she threw up, which was around the time we were eating dinner.
She usually comes over and lays under the table as we eat, but she stayed in the playroom, on the towel by the door. I went to go grab the bed from Cali's kennel, when she walked straight into Cali's kennel. This is very unlike her, she knows better. She immediately sat on the bed and laid down. I felt bad for moving her but I wanted her to having something better to lay on. I was able to get her out and I laid the bed by the door and she laid there for about 15-20 more minutes.
She got up at one point, because my brother just started eating. She hardly made it a couple of feet without throwing up again. I got her back to the playroom and put up the babygate where I watched tv so I could keep an eye on her.
I went to my room for a minute and I heard her barking. I went back, and she was barking at something outside. Surprised me that she had enough energy, so I let her out. She ran around the backyard for about 2 minutes before she was worn out and came back inside. I now have her in my room. She hasn't moved but she hasn't thrown up again either. I just checked on her and she felt cold to the touch, like she's having a hard time keeping her body warm. I put a blanket on her, but she just seems so worn out.
I haven't had a dog do this before, even though I've had them all of my life. Should I be worried? She's responsive but is really tired and couldn't keep her eyes open when I was laying next to her, she seems like she's in a daze. She usually sleeps with me but I'm not sure if it would be better to keep her in her kennel or keep her in my room so I can make sure she's okay.
Take her to the vets immediately.
A sudden down hill illness like this needs vet advice.

so, my german shepard mila keeps breaking into our basement and peeing in it. the basement is closed off by a retract-a-gate that looks like this :

(image not mine)
we have the switch locked all the time and a large crate in front of it now too. though, most of the time she pushes the crate with her nose and squeezes under the gate. we let her outside to go to the bathroom and play with her plenty also. we can’t really take her on walks because she has a shock collar on sometimes and now she’s too scared to leave the border unless we drive her out (i’m usually the only one home and i don’t own a car) what should i do? does anyone have an idea of why she’s doing it?
also here’s a video if anyone’s confused :

This may be dumb and not interesting to anyone at all, but I just wanted to share my future dog plans?
(you are more than welcome to ignore this as its mostly just me rambling)
I don't plan on getting my own personal dog for a long time, so any other dog I get between now and "future dream dog" will be someone I love but will be a family dog.
I've had my eye on Eurasiers for a while now, and I fall more and more in love with them every time I see one. As much as I love Malamutes, I don't think I'm the right person for one, so "FDD" will 99.9% definitely be a Eurasier. They're large, groomable, companion dogs and appear to tick all my boxes.
Once I get my house in the countryside and have a dog-friendly job where I can spend a healthy amount of time with my dog, I want to get a Eurasier. That would be either from one of the few breeders here in the UK, or what I'd rather do is save up for the extra expenses and get a KC registered import.
This may seem a bit vain, but I'd look for a wolf grey or red (without the darker mask) over any other coat colour, though red would would probably be what I'd go for. The other coats are lovely, but those two are what I prefer.
I already have a series of names picked out for him: "Wolf" (either in wolf grey or just a homeage to my baby Winston) "Winnie (Winston II), Aslan, Simba, Kovu, Sol/Solil/Sunny, Zanzibar (Zanzi), Fox."
I adore dogs of both sexes, but for certain "FDD" will be male, as I find I bond with them better than females.
I'd love to show him if the KC accept him which means stepping outside of my social anxiety box and going to ringcraft classes and/or hiring someone to exhibit him which will be a steep learning curve since I've never shown dogs before. Before or while I have him, I'd love to take dog grooming and canine behaviour classes, as I've always been interested in those two things and I think it would really benefit us. I'd still be super proud of him even if it's just for fun and he doesn't get anywhere, but if he does progress and show himself to be an example of the breed, I wouldn't mind studding him. Problem is, I'd have to vet everyone extensively, and I'd probably annoy the life out of the owner of the female constantly asking who the pups are going to and making sure they all have all my contact details if they want to stay in touch/ask questions. Honestly I probably wouldn't think any of them are good enough for my boy's kiddos haha.
When we're both settled into whatever we're doing together, I'd for sure look into getting him a rescue friend. They'd have to be good with cats (maybe) and other dogs, but they wouldn't have to like being around young children because then we'd have something in common. "FDD" would have a friend, and I'd be giving a well-deserving rescue a home.
But, that's it. I'm basically waiting until I'm rich to get a dog (I can dream), haha. I'll devote my life to him and he will be my absolute baby - we will go everywhere together.
So, that's me, and you're welcome to offer your opinions even if it's "wow that's a terrible idea" or "wow that's a bit ambitious", or "hahaaa you know nothing about any of this(no, I don't)" . I just wanted to put my ideal dog situation out there because I think it's good to have plans/ambitions.

So update on lilly.
She has a dislocated kneecap that’s going to need surgery.
She’s on pain medication and she’s going to start on cbd oil next week when it gets in.
We can’t afford the $3000 surgery right now, so we’re doing pain management for it while we get the funds to get her the surgery she needs.

Hey all! I'm posting here with some exciting news. Kahlua (who will be 6 months old September 3rd) has been doing level 1 puppy training, some pretty simple stuff. However, she's been constantly excelling and we're often complimented on how well we communicate and work together as a team. That being said, our trainer is putting us on the fast track to becoming a therapy dog team as she believes we'd be perfect for that sort of work. We need to graduate puppy level 1, complete puppy level 2, then she signs off on us to skip adult level 1 and jump to adult 2. After that, she works with us through CGC training. We were concerned about the closest CGC testing center being just over 2 hours away, but thankfully our trainer said that if we continued to work hard that she could have someone test us locally. Kahlua is incredibly calm and well-mannered, and our trainer describes her as having the "look" you want in a therapy dog, which I've noticed as she always checks in with me through strong eye contact. I'm thrilled, and happy to see that our daily training sessions and communication exercises have paid off. I understand what Kahlua's saying, and she understands what I'm saying, which is ultimately what I believe will benefit us most on this journey.
