Hi everyone! It’s been a really really long time since I’ve been here, I think it’s been months or maybe even a year since I’ve been here? A lot has changed for sure since I’ve been gone I noticed! I hope everyone is doing well and having fun as the summer winds down!

I was thinking about getting back into Kalons when I have the spare time, but I’ve lost a lot of connection to my current group of Kals that I have. I think I want a small start over with Kalons, I suppose that means that they’re all up for trade! For the majority of them I don’t have much connection to, but I am tentative on Barnaby, Saigai and Ghost!

I don't have any Kalons atm, but I'm hoping to get my first one. I've entered for this one, since I assume that is how you get one.
Anyways, I've never actually been into adoptables like this before. I've always thought they were a little silly. However, I couldn't help but see the Kalons around so much, that I just had to check them out. This seems like a really cool set-up that is expanding beyond a simple design adoption.
As I said before though, I'm totally new to this scene. Not just Kalons, but user-made adoptables in general. Any advice is appreciated!
Some questions I had: What exactly do people do with their Kalons? Are there specifics besides just loving them? What is the best way to get a Kalon? I'm going the route I assume to be "official", but I notice there may be more then just whats featured on the main page? Also, what is a MYO? From what I gather it seems to just be people's "fan made" Kalons that are not official, but I seem to be misunderstanding

@Ki-mono keep entering for adoptables! I'm starting off myself, keeping entering is your best bet :3 you can roleplay and worldbuild with kalons, making up your own stories! And myos are official, it just means you pay to design one yourself to keep! Guest artist entries are more like fanmade kalons that aren't usable unless claimed with an MYO and approved.

I've decided that if I'm not advertising on a post here, I'm going to put up a question so I can interact with you all! So my question for now is: what is the first contest you won? If that doesn't apply, what contests are you currently trying to win? I haven't won one yet, but I've got 2 hms, and I'm currently waiting on the milk one, the pom pom crab kit, broken heart, and I believe that's it? I do have one kalon who I'm hopefully breeding with one of Soll's once his cooldown is up! After that I'll begin scouting for trades :3 that's still to come though. So keep your eye out!
Also, anyone have suggestions for GA entry themes/edit combinations for me to try on my next one?

@ki-mono i feel the "try not to be awkward" thing, but i wish you luck in getting your first kal. i can say from personal experience that it takes a lot to win a main adopt, and that you'll find that you're met with frustration most of the time, but if you stick with it you're bound to snag a few kids <3

I'm taking a mental health hiatus to try and escape some of the stress entering for adopts puts on me while classes start. I don't know if or when I'll come back, but there is a good chance I'll end up hosting some readopts if I decide to fully quit in the next couple months. I can't say that I've had a truly fantastic experience here, but its been an experience none the less. however, I will be active as far as some world building and roleplay may go, so if you're interested in some of that for any of my kalons then just slide into my pms and we can chat.

with that being said, I do have a couple kids to introduce. they don't have names or a set au, but I would love some help in deciding that. they are also open for relationships to better set them into an au. if you'd like to set something up with them then just pm me here or dm me on discord (parker#1191)

i've decided after a bit of general realization since i don't connect as well as i'd like to anymore, that im going to be putting shiro, vulkan ( tent ), arson, jaren ( v. tent ), and john ( v. tent ), up for trade offers ! if i honestly have to ?? i'm totally willing to trade most / all for one kal ( esp. a legendary cause a winged / merkal is legit a dream ahah ) i've also got 2 rare edits ?? for tent trades. and 2 common + 3 standard myos.

Luckily someone gifted me one! So the fear of not winning the contest has died down.
I just got into this fandom, and I already feel the stress of adoptions too lol. I am interested in Role Playing as well, but should probably get more settled into Kalons first.
Those babies are so cool looking! They should be in some form of robot au I think.

I believe what sylveonsweetie987 means is that they would like some suggestions for their next artist entry, and to be sent any colours/themes that the kalon should have when they design it! They are submitting fake kalon designs to the artist search to hopefully become a guest artist! You can read more about that here!
@sylveonsweetie987 = You should do some designs with lots of fluff & very earthy colours! Anything witchy has me on my knees- I know loads of people who would love a plant-based design, something to do with herbalism, perhaps? Also, any excessively fluffy kals have me floored- I'm always a sucker for huggable designs! I wish you all the best with your next entry! In answer to your question, my first kal was a RU from highnoon from a pyop competition! Her name is hazel and she's here~ along with my myo baby, Thebe- I also have 4 hms, linked at the very top of the post!
@parker; = I'm really sorry to hear that the community & adoptions has you so stressed at the moment. Please take all the time you need for yourself and work towards being healthier and happier during class time. If worst comes to worst, its always important to focus on yourself, you don't owe this community anything, and it shouldn't keep you in an uncomfortable situation. The first contest homm,, my first Kal was a RU so I assume that? Or a raffle which was my second I believe. Though, if you mean main adopt, it was my gal Estelle. I still love the art I made and the love letter the prompt asked for, it's kinda based off how I feel about my s/o so it has a very special place in my heart ^^'
I'd say try birds! With standard traits ^^ Animal designs are great 👌
