Classic literature is much better than modern literature writing-wise. It's much more descriptive and poetic (storyline-wise I couldn't say the same though).

Disagree, some classical stories are needlessly descriptive and wordy to where completing said story is a massive slog. Classical literature is praised so heavily that not enjoying it makes you a non serious reader.
