I thought there was a general furry chat somewhere but I cant find it right now, so I'll ask here
Does anyone have experience doing artist alley at smaller cons? Like less then 1000 attendees. I wanna go to a con and do the artist alley to earn money but Im not sure how successful Id be. And I'd feel horrible going only to not earn any money at all, or very little.

I've done small cons, lost money every time to the point I won't do any cons with less than 1500 people. It also depends on your art style and your merch offering, commissions are popular but they have to be pretty decent quality.

Just wanna put this out there for all you beginner fursuit makers... kloofsuitsuk on Etsy, their patterns and directions are absolutely wonderful. My first ever fursuit head turned out looking almost professional! They have 3 different head base designs in their shop at the moment. They have a big cat feline head base, a standard wolf/fox type head base, and a long eared lynx type feline head base. They also have other patterns for handpaws and other fursuit parts. Just wanted to put that out there. The $8 per head pattern is worth every penny. Have fun!

Do you have any pics of your finished head? I've been eyeing that pattern to remake my Matcha head.

I’m probably going to ask to see if I can go pretty soon. If I can, then hopefully I can finish my first suit by then.

Oof
I was planning on staying simple, I have some crayola headshots I can do in an hour or less for $10. And maybe some slightly more complex lineart fullbodies.
I considered whipping up some stickers to sell as well but thats why Im asking how this kind of stuff usually goes.
I gotta decide before Sept 1st as thats when the sign-ups close

yep! i use sculpey III on my noses and it works great. i prefer it over foam/stuffed noses as i have more control over my shapes, just be sure to make it hollow inside so it doesn't get too heavy ^^
if your head isn't furred, just glue it right onto your base, otherwise matrices has a great tutorial on attaching clay noses onto furred bases
