trying to survive in such a hostile place was tough, especially when all alone. though he has his dog, lucian craved human company.
the man went about his way, nyx at his side, to hunt and look for anything useful in the now destroyed part of town. they find a some
kind of bird during the hunt, which nyx happy retrieved once shot down. they also found a traveler on their way back home, a rather
nice man called james who happens to be a doctor. or use to be one before hell decided to rise from its depths. as they head for home
they find yet another survivor, a feisty lady named roslind who was quite skilled in combat. lucian's luck seemed to run out after that
though as a reaper appeared during their search of an old store. the man was injured in the fight that took place, but thankfully he was
not killed or infected. james helped bandage the wound with bits of his jacket and roslind helped the man get lucian back to the town.

in the weeks that followed, lucian has grown quite fond of his two new members. espeically rosalind, though it could be because he
hasn't seen a woman in months and she was rather nice to look at. nyx seemed to like her as well, often following the woman around
while lucian rests in bed. james was a fun man, always wanting to play a round of cards or some other kind of game when they are
unable to go out and hunt or scavenge. it was so nice to finally have some human company. and the town was also growing now too,
it's only a matter of time before more people show up. the thought was rather bittersweet since it's nice to have a lively town again,
but it's also dangerous to have so many people in one location. especially with raiders being a constant thought in the back of every-
one's head. roslind is fierce whenever raiders are mentioned, always claiming they would be stupid to mess with her group. lucian
really enjoys how strong she is and hopes fate won't be cruel like it was when the plague came down upon them and killed so many.

presently, lucian is still stuck in bed, per james' orders, so the others have to go out for the patrols and hunts without him for some
time still. rosalind always comes to check on him before heading out, this time taking nyx along to hunt down some fresh game and
hopefully find some stuff to strengthen the base. james checks on lucian as well before heading out to try and find some medicines
or any kind of supplies that can help their leader heal faster. plus, they need more medical supplies in case of any future injuries.

valeria does not require that the sharks follow her religion, but she personally is a follower of kuatina(koo-UH-teen-UH), a quartet of three gods and one goddess. merida, the sole goddess and front of the quartet, represents fire. the gods, markus(earth), mitch(air), and michael(water), are the lesser gods. this religion is considered universalism. she picked this up from her family before leaving atreyum- valeria sees the deities for what they really can be- dark and mysterious.

settled in the nevada desert is a safe haven for kind people looking for a place to stay. a place that respects all forms of life. a place where love is abundant and fear is replaced with joy. this place is selcouth.

» recruitment
anyone can join selcouth, but they must gain the trust of the group before becoming an official member. trust and communication is vital within the group. members need to be open to each other, making the group as much as a priority as themselves [if not more]. if someone poses a danger by careless mistakes or reckless behavior, they will be forced to leave. selcouth cares for the animals and nature, only taking what they need. mistreating an animal or harming the earth will result in leaving the group.

the home of selcouth is within an abandoned rv park in the small town that gwendolyn grew up in [when the threat of being turned became imminent, almost all of the town's citizens fled to either the mountains or the neighboring city of las vegas]. there are three rv's, close enough to make a triangle-esque shape. tree branches and other foliage cover the distance between each vehicle, creating a roof of sorts. the middle of the triangle, with a cover of branches overhead, is the main area of the base. one rv is for storage and only certain ranks may enter. another rv is a living/sleeping area. the last rv currently has no main use.
» traditions
once a person is deemed to be a full member of selcouth, a ceremony takes place. the newcomer receives their new name and is introduced as a true member. the new name is usually something of nature [wren, talon, lily] and is used as a separation between life before and after joining selcouth. members are almost always referred to by their new name. people that have a strong bond may use each other's past names when talking to each other, like a nickname.
