Nellie waited what seemed like forever to hit the ground.
She was wondering if life had gone in slow motion...but then she realized...she wasn't falling anymore.

Nellie removed her arms from their protective stance over her face and blinked her green eyes as the sun's glare hit off them.
After she adjusted, she found herself to have landed in the arms of a boy.

Normally, a girl her age would be all flustered and all mary-sueish at this point.
Nellie had gotten her pride hurt from falling, so she was going to redeem herself now.

"I believe the saying is "It's raining men." Of course that would be the complete opposite here."
She stated with arm arm crossed and the other one pointing up as if she was being very dignified.
This was a bit weird since she made no real attempt to make the boy let go of her.

"Bird watching."
She replied in such a casual way that it was almost obvious that she was being sarcastic.
Nellie wouldn't, won't, and will not have enough paitence to ever bird watch. But it was a good excuse in this case.

She had started kicked her legs a little bit as they had been hanging over his arm.
Nellie could also tell by the smirk on his face that he was trying to make her feel flustered or something.
Nellie decdied to play it a different way though, and acting as though she was having a casual conversation standing on her own two legs instead of being held.

((I justrealized that everytime I have a girl named Nellie,I start her off by hanging upside downfrom a tree...all of them except the one that was crippled...))

Setsuya just continued to smirk, listening to the girl. "The song is just that, but you're too beautifulto be a man though, wouldn't you think?" He said, his tone velvetty and smooth as he spoke. Setsuya soon gave in to his little urge and put the girl down, making sure that her back was against the tree before he stood before her, trapping her there basically. He examined the girl's face for a few seconds, tilting up her chin with a curve of his finger. This was like a natural routine for Setsuya.

"You really don't seem like the bird watching type. Besides," Setsuya began, not daring to move his hand from under her chin. "it looked a lot more like you were taking a nap up there. Plus there aren't a lot of birds around here." Setsuya said with a smirk. Right about now, Lueria decided to make her appearance, uncurling from around Setsuya's neck where she diguised herself as a necklace. The white snake moved her head closer to the girl before them, her tongue flickering out of her mouth to taste the air. Most of Lueria's body was wrapped around Setsuya, hidden by his shirt. "I can sense power. This is either a strange human, or one of us. Maybe she can clue us in to where we can find him." Lueria and Setsuya shared a little mental capacity that allowed them to speak with each other. This tidbit of information made Setsuya raise his eyebrow in interest.

Nellie shrugged.
"Hey, with a little makeup I bet I could make a convincing boy."
She said, flicking her hair a bit in a prissy mannor.
He had an act she could tell. Nellie liked improv herself.

It didn't take her long to realize she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon after he set her down.
She didn't mind though.
This was a fun game.

Nellie pulled her chin up after he spoke so although it asstill pulled up, his finger was no longer the cause of it.
"Ah, but when a birdwatcher is asleep, the birds believe it is safe to come out."
She said in a teacher-like tone.

It took Nellie a while to notice the snake though. It was the same color as the boy's shirt after all.
She only noticed it when it started to move.
For a split second Nellie dropped character. Snakes interested her, but she was also slightly afraid of them.
Then her courageous emotion shone out and she regained control.

Although there was one more problem...
Andershire had poked his head out from her front pocket shortly after she had been placed down.
Andershire was a mouse. The snake's common prey.

Nellie could feel Andershire's breathing quickening and his little heart pounding.
There was nothing Andershire was afraid more of...except birds of prey maybe.

Setsuya continued to grin. This girl was different than the ones he was use to messing with. She wasn't contantly on a phone or fixing her hair or even making a move on him as he messed with her. It was very refreshing. "Birds aren't that trusting towards humans. Remember that, Hun." He chuckled with all seriousness... Not. He just knew that birds didn't like people in general. It was those who smelled close to the earth was what drew them out.

When Lueria began to slither down the inner part of Setsuya's sleeve, he didn't move and just grinned lightly. The lovely white snake came out from his sleeve and transfered from Setsuya to the girl, first touching her neck. Naturally Lueria would spot the mouse, but she didn't have much of an appetite, especially for something so scrawny. "This mouse... Kaijin-" Setsuya's expression turned hateful in a nanosecond. He immediately sent a hateful glare to Lueria. Kaijin might have been his former name, but not anymore. "That isn't my name." He said sharply, the great distain in his tone very plainly. Lueria slithered from the girl to Setsuya again, curling and moving down her leg to get back to Setsuya. "I'm sorry... Setsuya... That mouse is a soul creature. She is-" "I know." Setsuya smirked a little, grinning down at the girl and removing his hand from her personal space. He took a step back and glanced back and forth, his alluring expression on his face yet again. He was just waiting for the girl this time, watching her again.

~ Sarikana Lesh ~

Sarikana saw Victor walking over, and did her best to raise herself into a half-decent position. "Thanks," She muttered. Of course he had picked up her items. Someone as organised as Victor was couldn't possibly have done anything else. Sarikana groaned. "I'm sorry I'm... acting like this. It's just... well.... you're a human. This isn't something you could ever really come to understand. But trust me, you're lucky." Kaya, her soul creature, leapt silently onto Sarikana's lap, laying her head gently onto Sarikana's knee. "I'm sorry. Really. But.... this... it's not something I can help." She looked down, embarrased. "I've been thinking.... maybe it would help if we spent a little more time doing thing that would be, you know, normal? Things ordinary humans would do? I mean, to help me gain... some measure of control. Or at least to keep my emotions in check." Sometimes, Sarikana wondered if it was een possible to keep her emotions in check. But she was determined to do her best. She let out a short groan. Why had it taken her so long to get to the actual point of this meeting? Probably because she had run off when Victir had gotten here. Her running off was begining to become a bit of a regular occurance.

Unfortunately.

Xander looked displeased. "Happy? HAPPY? I can't be happy! How can I be happy when people are doing things all wrong all around me?" He then realized he was doing too much a bit. "I'm..sorry." The apology was barely audible, and then Xander wanted to ask the question that was always on the back of his mind. "Why do you put up with me Emma? Why haven't you abandoned me yet?" Most people in his life abandoned him, his family situation was just a mystery..Xander didn't have any friends besides Emma, so why did she stick around? Unless she likes getting yelled at..

[Sijach~Shadowstorm]

Xione walked in the opposite direction, planning on letting the sidewalks as well as her gut feeling to take her wherever they wished. "Khana.. We're leaving." She said with a hiss. Khana had other plans. She trotted to the garbage can and looked down at Devil, snickering. "Need some help, imp?" Khana said with a bit of a mocking tone. She lowered her tail in for Devil to hold so she culd pull him out. "You need to be a good soul creature. You don't want to let your partner down." She said, her ears flicking. Xione stopped and turned to look at Khana, her eyes narrowed. "Khana! Let's go!" Xione snapped.

Devil gave the cat an odd look, his kinf usually ate cats but he wasn't hungry. He grabbed onto it tail and pulled himself up, he didn't tug on it, he didn't want to hurt anyone. He staggered at the edge of the trash can and fell. He started flying a little, it was better than splatting. He looked around "Um... Thank you." he said quietly making sure Ezvar couldn't here him the kid was already angry enough.

Emma gave him a sad little look, she knew the question would come one day but she was ready to answer "I don't abandon you becuase everyone else has. You see the world as a terrible negative place, I think that there might be some way to show you the right to ever wrong. I want to help you... because I know what it's like when no one does." she spoke quietly, she remembered back home when she would ask for help, and no one would, when no one cared. It was terrible to feel like no one cared, she didn't want Xander to have to go through that.

((Everyone is talking. I don't quiet know where everyones characters are, I'm a slow reader but I know about mine. Emma is at the subway with Xander. Ali is at the library studying. Strad is just wandering. Ezvar just finished talking to Xione and he shoved Devil into a garbage can.))

Xander didn't really see how that was ever going to happen. "That's not going to ever happen Emma, you know that just as well as I do." He didn't see why she was always trying to make him happy, he wasn't a happy person, he just wasn't. Nobody could make him truly happy, and he knew that wasn't ever going to happen. "I will only be happy when I die!..Oh wait, nevermind..I would still have stuff to complain about. Don't you get it? I'm a worthless cause?" Xander didn't know what he was doing really. he didn't want Emma to leave, he needed her. "....Weren't you hungry or something?"
