Karkat stared at him for a second. Never in his life had someone actually been this worried about him, apart from maybe Kanaya. He burst into tears again, quickly wiping the tears away.

Dave quickly wrapped his arms around Karkat tightly, trying not to cry himself.

Karkat rested his head against Dave's shoulder, and closed his eyes again, appreciating the hug. He tried to think of something to say, but can't think of anything, and just murmurs "thank you," quietly.

Dave blushed slightly, but just hugged him tighter in response.

Karkat let Dave hug him for a while longer, and then slowly moved away. His cheeks were slightly red when he looked up at Dave with a small, nervous smile.

Dave smiled back at him, hoping his face wasn't too red.

Karkat raised an arm to rub at his eyes with the sleeve of his sweater. Standing there, staring up at Dave, he could think of nothing more than the feelings he had for Dave. He tried to stop thinking so much about that, and turned away to get himself another glass of water.

Dave looked away slowly, and then walked back into the living room with a large sigh.

Karkat watched Dave leave, and sipped his water thoughtfully.

Dave flopped down onto the sofa, thinking about confessing to Karkat. His face went bright red at the thought, but he ignored it and murmured to himself quietly.
