ravenclan's territory:
ravenclan is situated in a dark forest that is nearly always foggy/rainy. soil
is constantly soggy and vegetation is constantly wet. there are many sharp
thorns/poisonous berries located in ravenclaw's territory, along with abrupt
and sudden rocky dropoffs that can hurt a warrior if they're not careful.
ravenclan's camp is located in a large clearing backed up by a sheer rocky
cleft that gives the camp protection against rain and wind. dens for the cats
to sleep in are made of large, hollowed out bushes; the leader's den is a small
opening in the rocky cleft while the medicine cat's den is located a few paws-
teps away from the camp next to a mossy pond. ravenclan's territory is mainly
made of pine and cedar trees, where rodents such as mice, squirrels and moles
are plentiful. located at the very edge of their territory are a series of danger-
ous cliffs where apprentices and young warriors have been known to explore;
and a few meet an ugly demise. there is a clearing located in the middle of
the territory that apprentices will often train at. ravenclan's territory is also
home to many creeks that can become dangerous in the flood season. at the
edge of the territory lays moonpool, where medicine cats go to speak to star-
clan. however, many believe that the moonpool is cursed, as ravenstar had
dedicated the moonpool as not a sacred pathway to starclan but rather to
the infamous dark forest.

premise:
after ravenstar's purging law was disowned, all acts of purging have been
forbidden in an attempt to rebuild the clan and reconnect ravenclan with
starclan. now, many moons later, many cats find themselves living in rela-
tive peace without worrying about the violent night known as the purge.
others, however, feel differently and yearn for the night of bloodshed once
again.

recap:
dapplestar and whitewolf have organized a border patrol to find the loner,
sundusk, but bad weather is threatening to derail their finds. deciding to
go home, they make their way back to camp. meanwhile, sneezetuft, sw-
allowpaw, mousepaw and littleheart have run into sundusk and a fight br-
ewed between swallowpaw, sneezetuft and sundusk with amberstare joi-
ning in. after sundusk made an escape, the cats returned to camp.

indentthe warm morning air smelled crisp. dapplestar made her way out of the leader's den with a slight huff, the older she-cat giving her thick pelt a quick shake. the camp was quiet. it was early in the morning. the sun had barely peaked in the distance, still giving the clearing and the surrounding trees a shadowy look. dapplestar took in a deep breath. it was always so peaceful in the morning. she could hear several birds beginning to chirp in the canopy above as dawn broke through. like every new-leaf, prey was plentiful. a quick glance at the fresh-kill pile confirmed that. hunting patrols have done well in their finds, and dapplestar was beginning to feel hopeful. leaf-bare had been rough on everyone. it was always rough hunting and patrolling in ravenclan territory when snow was falling. there were so many rocks and crevices that prey were able to hibernate without detection, and with all the cliffs and slopes throughout their borders, many cats had taken painful falls. she was glad the worst was over.
indentdapplestar padded over to the fresh-kill pile and chose a hefty sparrow for herself before carrying it over to the entrance of her den. she raked through the things she needed to get done. she'd have to ask her deputy wolfstrike or one of the older warriors to lead a border patrol sometime today. if not today, than soon. last time she was out she caught scent of an outsider. kittypets were rare in this part of the woods. there were no two-leg dens nearby but ravenclan occasionally butts heads with loners or rogues. half of their clan was made up of descendants of rogues or loners, come to think of it. but dapplestar couldn't take any chances. there were so much prey about that it would draw in any lone cat, and dapplestar could not risk her clan's food source.

indentthe hefty tom resisted the urge to sneeze as one of the finch's feathers brushed his nose. he had woken up early this morning and gone hunting. he always found himself waking up pretty early to go hunting. his size made it hard to sneak up on prey sometimes, but over the last few moons he's managed to find ways to make stalking prey much easier for him. he liked contributing to the fresh-kill pile; it made him feel useful. only starclan knows how many mouse-brains in this clan ruin its potential. as adderfang trotted into the camp, he caught the clan's leader, dapplestar, eating near her den. his ears flicked in irritation as he trotted over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped the dead finch. dapplestar's leadership had been unexpected for him when he was a young warrior. other leaders in the past - ravenstar, especially - had been so ruthless and dictatorial that he hadn't expected such a nurturing cat to take their place. sure, she was loyal to the clan, but she had disowned the purge like her predecessor. the very foundations of ravenclan were lost because of leaders like her.
indentwith an angry swish of his tail, adderfang stalked towards the apprentices den. he needed to wake them up. if not, he knew some of the lazy furballs were going to sleep in. adderfang thrusted his head through the moss covering the entrance of the den, his dark eyes scanning the sleeping cats accusingly. he could see several nests were empty, but most of them were still asleep. "wake up, apprentices!" spat the large tom, his voice loud and heavy. "you're not going to earn your warrior names by sleeping in, now are you? it's time to get ready for the day."

indentmousepaw was jolted awake by a sharp voice. immediately heaving herself up from her nest, she was greeted by adderfang's scowl. the young she-cat huffed while blinking sleep away from her eyes. "do you have to do that every sun-rise?" she accused, giving her pelt a shake so tufts of moss wouldn't stick to her fur. the senior warrior tended to do that a lot, and mousepaw was sick of it. she knew another cat would be doing it if not him, but he was aggressive about it. the old tom-cat narrowed his eyes at her. "until you mouse-brains wake up on your own, than yes. now get moving!" with an irritated huff, mousepaw slid past him into the clearing.
indentshe immediately made her way over to the fresh-kill pile. she picked a small shrew to dine on as she contemplated the day. she wondered if they were going to do some training today, or go on any patrols. mousepaw was eager to go hunting, but she knew she had to listen to her mentor and what they thought. after all, they were the one training her. but mousepaw was an energetic little thing. she liked to show off her talents in hunting.

sneezetuft pranced through an open field, flourishing in the lovely smell of flowers flooding through her nose. her nose, which wasn't sneezing away every few heartbeats. a purr rumbled in her throat as a butterfly landed delicately on her little nose. she paused in her running, though, as she heard adderfang's voice. adderfang? he couldn't have been here, she was alone! she swiveled her head around, bewildered. the voice grew louder, and louder, and suddenly... ACHOO! sneezetuft was awake, sneezing, and dreadfully listening to adderfang as he hounded on the apprentices. with a sigh, she clambered out of her nest and into the clearing. she supposed that she should take swallowpaw out for training, but...

sneezetuft felt a sneeze rack her body, and her tail drooped disappointedly. she was such a terrible mentor. sneezetuft couldn't understand why dapplestar had given her an apprentice, other than maybe it was simply out of pity that she was awful at her normal warrior duties. sniffling, she gently passed by adderfang and crouched at the apprentice den entrance. "swallowpaw!" she called softly. "it's time to go hunting!"

pinepaw was awake already. he had been organizing some marigold, but the clan was waking up now, and he was dying to stretch his paws. the grouchy tom peered out of his nest and immediately spotted mousepaw. with a sly grin, pinepaw padded up to the younger apprentice and sat down beside her while she ate. "morning, mousepaw. how is the most good-looking apprentice doing today?" he greeted with a smug wink. he grabbed a small mouse from the prey pile and crouched down beside her to eat it. pinepaw was well aware that he shouldn't be flirting with any cat because of his role as medicine cat apprentice, but he couldn't care less. he hated being a medicine cat, but he didn't hate mousepaw. he had grown quite fond of her, and enjoyed playfully flirting with her and just being around her in general; it temporarily lifted the weight of anger from his heart for a while, and he didn't care what fawnsong had to say about it, frankly.

Pebbleheart awoke with a start, his mind clouded with the thoughts of the nightmare he'd just endured. He'd been having the same one for a few days now, and at this point it showed no signs of stopping, much to his despair. The large tom heaved himself out of his nest with a loud sigh, his brows furrowing as he made his way out of the den and into the clearing, his tired gaze shifting toward the apprentices den where Adderfang stood, his voice booming through the clearing. The older tom let out a small chuckle, feeling somewhat bad for the poor apprentices that had slept until well after dawn, a major pet peeve of a few of the older warriors. The Siamese warrior made his way over to the den and squeezed in beside Adderfang, his voice soft as he called out to his own apprentice "Deerpaw, you heard him.. it's time for you to get up. Meet me by the entrance of camp after you get something to eat, I have some training planned. With that, the large tom shot Adderfang a nod of respect and trotted over to the camp's entrance, a small smile spreading across his face.

The tuxedo tom stood at the entrance of the apprentices den, his amused gaze focused on the sleeping felines that resided inside, his sister being one of them. He had made a habit of waking up before the rest of the clan, especially since his mentor was so strict when it came to wasting valuable training time. It wasn't his favorite thing in the world, and he was tired of the constant haze in his mind due to the fatigue.. but he wanted to grow up to be the best warrior, no, leader, he could be.. even if that meant he had to push himself every day. Badgerpaw shook himself out of his sudden daze and made his way over to the fresh-kill pile, his gaze focused on his mentor as the large tom finished waking up the other apprentices, a slight smirk still visible on his maw.

The long-furred apprentice jumped awake as the warrior's voice echoed through the den, her heart racing a mile a minute as she locked eyes with the large tom. He had made a habit of doing this.. waking them all up extremely early, even if their mentors weren't ready for them yet. Swallowpaw remained in her nest for a moment, silently contemplating whether or not she was brave enough to disobey the older tom's order, though she knew she wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. She jumped to her paws with a small grumble and made her way slowly out of the den, wincing slightly as one of the younger apprentices spoke out, something that was sure to get her in trouble. Continuing on toward the center of camp, the fluffy fae stopped to stick her tongue out at her brother, mainly because he had such a strict and mean mentor, and she wanted him to know how she felt about that. Swallowpaw smiled as she glanced toward the warriors den, the familiar sound of a sneeze catching her attention Good morning Sneezetuft! Did you sleep alright?"

Goosefeather sat outside of the warriors den with a smile spread across her jaws, her fluffy tail wrapped neatly around her paws as she remained seated. She decided to wait a bit before attempting to join any patrols, somewhat relieved that she didn't have an apprentice to look after for the time being, especially with how much her paws seemed to ache recently. She decided that today would be the day she finally went to see Fawnsong about her pain, though she was reluctant to do so. The tabby warrior just watched as her clanmates bustled around camp, some more ready than others to begin the long day that lay ahead.

indentadderfang couldn't help but twitch his whiskers comprehensibly when he heard a familiar sneeze. sneezetuft. it baffled him how dapplestar granted the she-cat an apprentice to train. he knew that dapplestar probably just wanted to give her the chance to train an apprentice and experience being a mentor despite her condition. he didn't doubt the younger warrior's skills but he knew her sneezing made it hard to hunt, and how is one supposed to train an apprentice when you can hardly make a kill yourself because all the surrounding prey hears you? he supposed that as long as her apprentice, swallowpaw, was learning everything she needed to learn, it didn't matter. hunting should come naturally to every cat. he watched as sneezetuft beckoned for her apprentice before another warrior, pebbleheart, squeezed his way in. he returned the nod before leaving the apprentice den himself, figuring that the rest of them will just have to be bothered by their own mentors
indenthe noticed badgerpaw by the fresh-kill pile. adderfang, oddly enough, did not mind the younger tom-cat. he was in many ways like himself, and he was always ambitious and ready for whatever adderfang had in store for him. he had many fine warrior qualities; adderfang was not worried about his future. he'd be a good addition to the clan. he couldn't say the same for some of the other apprentices in the clan but he knew badgerpaw had potential. he was a complete opposite to that of his littermate, swallowpaw, but adderfang saw nothing wrong with it. as he neared his apprentice, he gave him a nod. "badgerpaw," he greeted his apprentice curtly. it was almost like his own way of saying good morning. "are you ready for training today?" adderfang knew he overworked him sometimes but he saw it as a necessity. he had to teach badgerpaw everything he needed to know to become a great warrior and, perhaps, even a leader someday. all the knowledge took time to relay.

indentmousepaw looked up from her prey when she heard a familiar voice. pinepaw. of course. she didn't know who she had expected. he was always slinking around her, making comments and the occasional flirt. it was amusing, to say the least. "morning, pinepaw," she responded, some amusement trickling into her tone. "i'm doing just fine this morning. how about you? fawnsong hasn't shoved any herb sorting duties onto you yet?" she teased, flicking his shoulder with the tip of her tail. fawnsong was harmless and a good medicine cat but she knew that she probably had a hard time with the older apprentice. pinepaw was enigmatic to her. he had redeeming qualities as a warrior when it came to his size and potential to defend the clan and hunt, but he was a medicine cat apprentice. a medicine cat apprentice! she had no idea if he had been chosen for the position or if he chose it himself but she assumed he was forced into it. he didn't really seem to like his duties as a medicine cat apprentice. well, who would? it was a position reserved for cats who have the compassion and morality to take it on. mousepaw knew she could never live such a tempered life. she would hate to have to stay in the camp all the time patching up wounds or healing sick cats. there's nothing quite like hunting or being able to defend the clan's borders, and a sliver of her found it sad that pinepaw couldn't experience that either. it would be fun to be able to go hunting with him or perhaps have a lesson together about battle techniques. in another life, perhaps.
