a shrine? she'd never thought of making a shrine before but she could likely figure it out. "maybe you could arrange then together to look like a big picture. kinda how stained glass looks, but with the gems of course." carter nodded and cara smiled at him. she grabbed her camera and pulled up a picture she'd taken of some crabs. "here, if you have some paper we can draw up a... blueprint of sorts to figure out what gems we'd need color wise and how big theyd have to be." carter grabbed her a pencil and paper and she quickly got to work, drawing up a magnificent plan full of crabs... dancing? she couldn't tell. maybe they we're but who knew. they were on the beach and there was 5 small crabs in the picture she'd drawn. she labeled the different parts by color and presented her idea to carter. "here, what do you think about this carter?" he glimpsed at it and then nodded, a smile growing on his face. "perfect!" he gave cara a pat on the back. "this is definitely going to work, thank you so much for helping." cara grinned "of course, it was nothing, really."

Sal smiled a bit and nodded before sitting down and looking through the box of crystals available. He basically took inventory, making sure to write down exactly which ones were what color, and how big they were. Most of the stones were, predictably, purple, greenish, and blue hues, but he knew that there had to be others somewhere, so he scoured the beach until he found what he was looking for- a pink sea glass. He did pick up a few other colors, of course. Then, he pulled out a pen and a notepad and got to work. He started with the base- as an engineer, he already had a plan and knew the theory of how he would pull it off. First, from the pink, he began to put together an idea of how to craft a body. He’d said Thatcher likes crabs, right? Well, hopefully that included hermit crabs. The pink stones set up so that they formed the bulk of the body, with little bits of the larger purples flashing through from where they resided on the inside of the statue of the body. It was beautiful, though not exactly smooth, with each of the details a hermit crab’s body would naturally have included with precision, though the colors weren’t exactly accurate- the eyes were made from a pure black stone he’d found on the beach that stood out fiercely from the body. Then he began the shell. Here is where his engineering came in- when he crafted the body, he made sure to leave hollow space in the center, and now he crafted the shell based on that, using only the lightest of the materials. It was a myriad of the pastel hues of the things he had access to, mostly a blue and greenish color to stand out from the body, with the swirl a mixture of gradients. Gently, he placed the shell on top of the body, twisting it until the pole meant to affix the body and shell was aligned. Then came the true test. He grabbed the largest open geode, one nearly in a bowl shape, and excitedly filled it with water. He placed it over the minuscule hole on the body and slowly began to pour the water in, getting giddy with excitement as he watched the shell rise up, as though the hermit crab was emerging from its hiding place and home. Then, he sat to wait the minutes necessary for the water to leak back out through a small hole in the bottom, watching as the shy looking sculpture hid again. Of course, he had a crystal which he could plug the hole with if they hoped for just a standing sculpture, but overall it seemed to be perfect. He finished up by drawing a sketch of what the shrine around the sculpture would look like- a mass of carefully carved driftwood with sea-glass interspersed throughout it, in a small, hut-like shape- then proudly showed his creation, leaving with a simple “If you ever need help again, let me know!”

"a shrine?"
antheia blinks with surprise, then glances at the crate full of pretty rocks. she's always been one for interior decoration, wanting to make her home and shop look as pretty as possible, but a shrine is a whole 'nother level she's never tried to tackle. or mountain she's never tried to climb. because rocks, y'know?
she smiles at her own internal joke before reaching into the crate to push the geodes around, checking out the colours, shapes, looks. then she nods. "well i'd say if your friend was going to use these to decorate their house they'd be in for a challenge, but i think a... crab, shrine, these'll do nicely. i'm more experiences with alters, personally, but they can't be too different - i guess my first piece of advice would be to find a nice place to set it up. for crabs you'd want to be close to the ocean but not too close in case the ocean washes it away - not too far away because that's kind of redundant."
she pokes at a dull orange stone. "crab body. split a few of the thinner ones up as legs. use the blue rocks as the ocean, obviously - use the green ones and shape them as seaweed. use some actual, big grey stones as... well, stones. and use some of the really tall ones to border it all off! so it's obvious and people won't accidentally stand on it, and the extra height protects it all from the elements! and hey, if thatcher wants to stray from rocks only, some sand will do, or some sea snail shells since... i think crabs eat sea snails. or other shells in general. who knows?"
she shrugs, then backs away from the box.
"anyway, i hope he manages to get something nice made from all these. the geodes are pretty enough, i guess it's just a matter of how they're arranged."

At Carter's question, he ponders to himself. Azrail doesn't know very much about art, but... angels were known for coming to earth disguised as regular kalons and creating miraculous statues. Perhaps he could try? He wanted to help the kalon at least.

"Maybe a piece for the middle of the room? Just a simple small thing that could sit on a table," he suggests politely and leans forward to inspect the gems. They sparkle under the sunlight drifting in through the window. Azrail glanced at the window and knew that this would be a good spot for it, right in the direction of where the rays would hit. "A statue of a crab, probably a blue and purple one since that would make the most sense. I want to make it realistic."

Azrail sets an unopened geode on the table and inspects it, knowing it would have various shades of blue and purple like the others. He breaks it open with an instrument that looked like a chisel and gets to work, hammering quickly.

"I think I've got it!" he exclaims and pulls out a crystal crab, one that he had made.

Carter gapes at the angel -- not knowing that he is one, of course -- and stammers, "Ho-how did you...how did you do that?" Still shocked, he picks up the crab and admires it.

"I'm just a natural," Azrail laughs.
