Um'ing and 'Ah'ing as he thought about how to go about decorating this shrine for crabs. Sitting down next to Carter, he glanced over crystals and geodes, taking in all the pretty colours of all of them, carefully lifting a couple before placing them back down gently.

"Mm, well, whats a shrine without a big mural? What about a mosaic? Those look really lovely if they're done properly. And if this Thatcher guy likes crabs as much as it sounds like he does, I can see them putting in the effort to make sure it looks as good as it can! That way they can use all of these lovely colours." He hummed, twirling a strand of his hair around his fingers as he looked to Carter for a response.

"I think it would look nice! I'd like to help too if they'd let me. I might not be the best, but I like arts and crafts a lot! So... if you could ask them if I could help! Oh! We could get a lot of people to help. That was it's a big group effort and Thatcher doesn't have to do everything themselves and we could have some people draw out the designs and some people helping break up the crystals and geodes so they fit nicely and some putting them into the mosaic and... I'm rambling, aren't I? It just seems like it could be a really fun project to do together."

Clemencio leaned back onto his hands, glancing up at the roof. They could even put some up there whenever it was Thatcher was putting the shrine, making the geodes look like stars, the light would reflect off them so nicely and twinkle.

"Yea, I think a mosaic would look real nice for the shrine."

A shrine, huh… decorating sounds like a lot of fun!

the first thought, when a shrine is mentioned, may very well be, what for? ruka,
being an absolute fool, turned white as a sheet and wondered if their cover had
been blown. because, you know, anyone you met a week ago is going to suddenly
come to the conclusion that you were a death god some several thousand years
ago, as if anyone could ever think that.

( well. it wasn’t entirely far fetched. considering it Had happened. but not that
ruka knew of, and this certainly wasn’t that case, so, anyhow. )

ruka shakes their head, clearing the Definitely Absurd thought. they knew a lot
about shrines, but in the moment, decorating shrines wasn’t really what they
were thinking about. because now they’d gotten around to the what for? they
hoped giant squid, or some sort of beach or forest deity. maybe a smoke monster.
it’d been a week since the cruise wrecked and ruka had hoped to see a smoke
monster, but they were still thinking about it, apparently.

they kind of just hoped the shrine wasn’t. for crabs.
unless it was an eight foot tall crab.

“oh,” ruka shrugged, “just make sure whatever the shrine is for likes geodes i
guess. gods get real crazy when they don’t like what they’re offered.”
useless advice.

When presented with this issue, Pip immediately did his best to be helpful. He wasn't much of a designer himself, but would always lend a hand to someone in need.
"Well, I'm not entirely sure... but I think if the goal is some sort of shrine, maybe the gems should be arranged to form a tower. I think that would be pretty cool." Pip thought about it more, envisioning a beautiful tower of gems. He then suggested that patterns be made with the gems. It would be a vertical shrine made to let the brightest gems stand out. They could arrange yellow gems like the sun and blue ones like the ocean. At this point, he was fairly sure it would be an amazing result. He even asked for some paper and sketched out his idea. When first asked, he was so unsure of things, but once the basic shapes popped in his head he was able to run with it. After finishing the sketch, he proudly showed Carter and asked him to pass along exactly what he said as well as the diagram he'd created.
"It'll be great!" He smiled, enthusiastic about his first time designing something. It seemed things would all work out.

There was a huge array of colorful gems, but the most common were blues and greens shimmering in the high sun, scattering rainbow beads of light across the ground. It was quite obvious what they had to do after a moment’s thought. Elishan removed his shawl and made the motions of rolling up nonexistent sleeves, smile as bright as the jewels. “What if they were made into a sea turtle?”

Carter looked at him funny, obviously not seeing the picture that was so vivid in Eli’s mind.

“Look, let me show an example friend.”

He began rummaging through the pile picking out specific sets of gems that seemed to correspond with each other. Holding up various shades of green into yellows he arranged them into a circular shape on the ground. “These could be the shell,” Eli explained plainly. Without missing a beat, he plucked blue tones from light to dark and stacked some together, creating a vague shape. “And beneath it there can be a sort of wave-like the turtle is surfing on it?”

The example was… nothing like that. But it got the point across. Hopefully.

It would be a beautiful sculpture if completed. Elishan wondered though what they were going to do with all the leftover gems that simply didn’t fit the vision…
