lyxia dialogue.
"Life cannot go on like this Sylvian." it was those casual words that spurred sylvian from poking at the rice upon his plate. He lifted his head, his pale emerald eyes gazing into lyxia's. She often worked at the planetarium around now, so it was a rare occasion when Sylvian could grab dinner with one of his best friends. They had grown up together, and he had neglected their friendship. One of his many regrets with the life he now lived.
"Whatever do you mean Lyx?" he asked casually, knowing very well that Lyxia had long been concerned about his current living choices. He settled himself deeper in his seat, preparing for a lecture on why his dietary habits and exercise choices were bad for an overall life style. She let out an airy sigh.
"You know why Sylv." she poked, using the nickname he had long despised despite her defense that he had given her the nickname lyx against her own wishes. It was merely payback, she called it. "Don't worry I haven't
just been eating hamburger helper, I've tried to buy fruit from the market this week to go along with it," he paused to take a bite of his food. "and I've taken a walk every day this week to clear my head before heading back to my study!" he defended himself with ease, picking up his glass of water and downing it with a few gulps. Clearing his mouth of the nutrients courtesy of lyxia.
"As much as I'd love to lecture you again on dietary habits, that's not what I meant." Sylvian paused at this, sending a quizzical look at Lyxia who held nothing but pity and a bit of concern in his eyes. He hated her eyes. So expressive. She had never been good at hiding her emotions, especially when it came to Sylvian. They're relationship was nothing but platonic, almost sibling like really. They both had agreed on that long ago, and held no attachments to one another besides the fact that they were practically related. When she was satisfied she had hushed him she continued on, the superiority in her tone bothered sylvian more than he'd care to admit.
"You can't go on like this. We both know you hate writing, you've hated writing since the second grade!" she exclaimed, her hands gripping the edge of the table as she tried to work out his heavy mask of emotions. "So?" he questioned, a voice near whisper.
"So?" she responded, her eyes growing wider.
"So?" she repeated, disbelief in her voice. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she rose her voice in a frustrated quip.
"So?! Your killing yourself Sylvian! Your killing your mental state! Your so damn focused on making everyone else happy your forgetting what makes you happy!" she took a breath then, her eyes swirling with regret. Likely that she hadn't had told him sooner. She knew more than she let on, and she knew very well he knew what he was doing to himself.
"This is your life sylvian, not anyone elses. Not your parent's, not your producer's, not your fanbases's. It's yours, and you need to start taking care of yourself. Your a brilliant young man who doesn't deserve to waste away behind a desk all day just to make a group of swooning teenage girls happy with your writing!" she growled at him before standing up, snatching her plate angrily from the table and stalking away.
"Just think about it Sylvian. It's about time you stood up for yourself and chose your own path in life." with that she left a flabbergasted sylvian in the dining room of his best friends house.
Sylvian sat there silently, his eyes swirling with hurt as he focused on the spot lyxia had just occupied across from him. He sighed and ran a hand over his face and through his hair, taking a moment to glance at the kitchen were a fuming lyxia was scrubbing away at the dishes, oblivious to his gaze on her frustrated face. "okay." he spoke silently and looked at lyxia, who had paused in her dish washing to look back at him.
"okay what?" she asked curiosity and suspicion etched on her face. "Your right. Dead on really." he responded, confirming her suspicions with a blank expression. "I don't know how to change my life. All i've ever done is do things for other people." he responded and a soft smile broke out on lyxia's face as she dried her hands on a hand towel before walking over to sylvian.
"Then we'll change your life together."
