HylianHylians, otherwise known as the Hylia people (Or just Hylia) are creatures who worship the goddess Hylia, which is where their names were derived from. Hylians are the original race of Hyrule. They are a race of humans, their most distinct feature about them is their long, elf-like ears, which is rumoured to allow them hear messages the goddesses, although the Gerudo and Sheikah also possess them. They are a magic race, with Hylians being able to wield magic of considerable might. Although that ability has dwindled over time, some are still able to perform it, with the royal family being the most capable, seeing as they are of Hylia's bloodline. Some sages and shrine maidens have also been able to wield magic, an ability that brought them considerable honor in the Hylian society. The most famous Hylians are the, many heroes and princess' that shares the same name, mainly being Link and Zelda.
ZoraThey Zoras, also known as the Zora Tribe, are an aquatic folk who possess fish and amphibian like traits, including fins, webbed feet and gills, which allow them to swim and thrive underwater. Zora's can come in many shapes and sizes, but are most commonly depicted as humanoids with long tail fins on their heads and finned appendages on their arms and legs. They are protectors of water. Zoras are normally found in or near large bodies of water, but very rarely stray far away from them. In Hyrule, Zoras live in the Zora's Domain, a large cavernous fountain that is connected to the Zora River, which flows directly to Lake Hylia. It is common to see Zoras within these areas as well. Zoras, however, do not solely live in fresh water, but can also thrive in salt water. Most individuals (but not all) have fins attached to their limbs and a tail at the back of their head, making their head alone resemble a fish. However, Zoras also come in various shapes and sizes, with some lacking the head fin and others having a rotund appearance. Some Zoras possess fins that greatly resemble the folds of clothing. Their skin color ranges between white, blue and gray, but few have also appeared bright red or brown as a seemingly rarer variant.
GerudoThe Gerudo are a desert-dwelling folk and live as merchants in Gerudo Town in Breath of the Wild. A rather peculiar aspect of the Gerudo is that the race consists almost entirely of women, with a male being born only once every hundred years. This male is destined to become their king. When there is no male to be their king, the Gerudo are led by a chief with the position passed on from mother to daughter. Gerudo are known to have the following traits: dark skin, amber eyes, red hair, and a sharp bird-like nose. Their skin color, however, has been shown to come in two tones: a common light brown and an olive-greenish variation. Gerudo in Breath of the Wild generally have green eyes instead of amber. Gerudo also vary between having round ears and pointed ears. They do not allow males to enter their towns, to the point it is illegal to sell men's clothing. In spite of this, the Gerudo appreciate talent when they see it and do accept non-Gerudo among their ranks if they manage to prove themselves. Being a warrior race, they are well apt at combat, and have been shown to use weapons such as glaives and dual scimitar swords. Some members of the race have also been shown to possess magic. Archery and skilled horseback riding are highly regarded in Gerudo society. They also use Sand Seals, animals native to the Gerudo Desert Gateway, to get around the desert. Sand seals are not exactly ridden; rather, one surfs on a shield behind the animal while a rope keeps them tethered to it. The Gerudo have their own writing script, referred to as Gerudo Typography.
GoronGorons are a species of rock-like sentient humanoid. They are a very peaceful species that usually stay away from conflicts but are able to defend Hyrule if it is threatened by an outside force. They usually lives in mountain ranges or near active Volcanos as they enjoy these kind of climates. They are one of the most ancient species of Hyrule and existed even before the kingdom was even established. Unlike most species found in Hyrule, the passage of time had almost no effect on their appearance and the Gorons found are almost the same as the one seen during the time where the Goddess Hylia walked the earth in person. Due to their ties with Hylia, they are also very good friends with the Hyrulean Royal Family since the creation of Hyrule. Gorons are very rocky in appearance and needs to eat rocks of high quality to survive, this is generally why they have mines to optimise their manner of finding said rocks. This is also the reason why they usually lives near mountains or active volcanos. Gorons seen in every games are always referred to as males and it is even said that even if Gerudos strictly for forbid males to enter Gerudo Town, they are allowing Gorons in because they are unable to tell if they even have an actual gender. Despite being composed almost entirely of rocks, Gorons ages and eventually dies of old age if they live long enough, they also seems to have a lifespan similar to Hylians.
Koborgs:
*NOTE: Image only represents how the Kokiri looks like, not the Koborg species*Koborgs are an alternate Kokiri species, in which they have been altered with mechanical items instead (Cybernetic implants). Still being the same as the Kokiri's (which we'll refer as for now) they are still called "Children of the Forest", and resembles child-like beings. They do not age, however, they can be killed. Most Kokiri's have blond or red hair, with some exceptions. They are mostly seen with a fairy partner, usually granted by the Deku tree. These fairies are quite useful to them, as they utilize their abilities as best as they could, such as communicating from distances. Thus, they are usually believed to be "True Kokiri's" once a fairy comes to them. They tend to wear green Kokiri Tunics, with females having headbands and males with the distinctive green hat. They are often referred to as "Forest Fairies", "Forest Folk", or "Fairy Children." Kokiri's were at first Hylians (hence their similar looks), however they chose to live closer to nature. However, they were also made by the Deku Tree.
RatatoskrRatatoskri are similar to the Kokiri of the old age, always having a child like body, regardless of actual age. They have large bushy tails similar to that of a squirrel’s, and like squirrels, they are quick and agile. Colonies are formed when a small group living in the trees scatter the trees’ seeds around in fertile soil, making new forests as time goes on. Every year when winter sets in, they can sleep for a fairly long time, and is quite hard to wake up, due to them being in a squirrel-like. They tend to sleep for as long as they want, possibly through the entire season if it permits them. But they can choose to wake up anytime if they want.
Wapasri*Image not accurate representation*
The Wapasri are humanoid bees, and they have the back part of a honeybee attached to the bottom of their back, close to their rear. The ones on females are larger than the ones on males. Like the Anthari, they also have four arms, but they also have a pair of transparent yellow wings that look like dragonfly wings, which allows them to fly. True to their bee-like appearance, they tend to be found in groups, and are similar to the Gerudos as it is mostly populated with females. Males, however, can exist within, although relatively low. They prefer to attack using sharp, needle like object, although in this case, they hold it, and don't die if used. Poison is usually applied onto them, although where they get the poison, is relatively unknown.
AnthariThe Anthari look like anthropomorphic ants, and have four arms, two eyes that are made up of tiny hexagons, which are known as compound eyes, although the eyes look somewhat normal upon first glance. Their hands have three small claws in a triangle formation, two on the top and one on the bottom. Other than their heads, there is no difference between the males and females. Typically also found in groups, they have the ability to lift things heavier than them, and is excellent at sensing vibrations. If ever in fear, they run quite quickly, and is quite quick when it comes to digging.
Ramaroes
The Ramaroes are a race of sheep like people. Males have spiral horns, as well as wool on their legs, arms, and waist. Females lack the horns, but they also have wool on their chest. They shed wool every summer, and sell it in markets. Their wool has magical energy in it that induces sleep, so the wool is often spun into yarn to make pajamas and bed sheets. During the summer, the Ramaroes are very lively because of their lack of wool, and they become much more sluggish and docile when their wool grows back in the winter.
Alraune
*No Image For Reference*
Alraune are creatures that take the form of a beautiful woman encased in a giant flower. Normally, because they are rooted, they can't move, but magic and/or technology can allow them to move using their roots as legs. The nectar that Alraune produce is well known for being incredibly sweet, and is used in cooking. When the nectar has taken enough time to fully ripen, the Wapasri use it to make their famous Miracle Honey, but it takes decades for Alraune nectar to fully ripen.
Minotaurs
*No Image For Reference*
Minotaurs are a male-only species, and the counterpart to the female-only Holstaurs. They have the lower body of a cow, and the upper body of a buff Hylian male, along with bull-like horns. While Minotaurs are normally honorable warriors, they lose all reason if they see the color red, causing them to rampage for about an hour.
Holstaurs
*No Image For Reference*
Holstaurs are the female counterpart to the male-only Minotaur species that have the lower body of a cow and the upper body of a beautiful Hylian woman, along with white and black fur. Unlike Minotaurs, they are very docile, and prefer not to get into fights. However, just like Minotaurs, they lose their sense of reason whenever they see the color red, although they are much easier to calm down than a rampaging Minotaur is. They produce milk that is both delicious and nutritious, and it is highly sought after. However, Holstaurs are very sensitive about who is allowed to milk them, and normally, other than herself, the only person who a holstaur will let milk her is her husband. Holstaurs are seen widely as the perfect housewife, since their commitment to their husband is undying.
