♣ Description ♣ » Azalea has the classic build of a greyhound; thin body, tall belly, strong legs. Her eyes are a golden color, with flecks of brown. Her base color is a steel blue/grey but she has white legs, chest, facial blaze, and the tip of her tail. Her ears prick straight up when she is alert, but they tend to flop over slightly when she is relaxed. Azalea's left ear is more prone to flopping than her right. With a long neck and small head, she was built to run. When at maximum speed she can reach up to 45 mph, making her perfect hunter. Being a Greyhound, she is also full of energy and is rarely tired.

♣ Personality ♣ » Azalea is hard-working and dedicated. She is prone to shutting others out when stressed or in difficult situations, trusting more in herself than others. While not unsocial, she is a refined introvert. Not much scares her, and she steadily faces most issues, coming from a history of facing horrid ones. She isn't much of a rebel. However, she has enough confidence in herself to turn tail if necessary. She is rather serious, but allows herself a few laughs with close friends. Her quiet, thoughtful nature also includes her extreme loyalty to those around her and in the pack.
♣ History ♣ » Her purebred Greyhound lines put her on the market as a racing dog. Seeing that demand was high, she was snatched up lickety-split. Within weeks, she had on her racing coats and was waiting for the gates to open. This life was tough and exhausting but her energy levels were always high. Racing life suited her just fine, but this unfortunately caused her to miss out on a key part of a puppy's developmental process; socialization. Other racing dogs were around, but they never had the chance to interact much. This contributes to her quiet demeanor. All racing dogs age out and at the ripe old age of two, she was removed from the system and retired. Retired greyhounds often are hard to re-home because of their energy levels, lack of socialization, and the general amount of dogs coming off the track. After a few weeks in a county shelter, she was bought in a mass purchase by a pet blood donations company. Then began the nightmare, making racing look like a dream. She was housed on wire floors, cutting her well-worn paws into bits. Not to mention the blood drawing daily, making her the weakest she'd ever been and in a coma-like state. Not to mention she was hardly fed and the water was often contaminated with the urine and feces of other sick donor dogs. The place was a complete wreck of a company, which the public soon discovered, thanks to an expose. All dogs in the facility were moved to shelters or re-homed. Azalea was re-homed to a city in a house with one teen child and his parents. They did their best, but Azalea paced by the door every night. When the tornado struck, she was both glad to get out of there and worried about her future. After days of wandering, she came upon the pack. Hunting was her cup of tea and she never claimed otherwise. Azalea slidnto the pack's ranks with ease.
