sesquipedalian, Eliza and her Monsters is actually the favorite book of a friend of mine. She convinced me to read it about a year ago and, to be frank, I definitely remember crying to that one. Seeing how disconnected her parents were hit hard, how they basically ruined everything for her just like that. That plus Walter's(that was his name right?) horrendous lack of understanding of Eliza's creative burnout really made for a tear jerker. You could practically feel her frustration and loneliness jumping off the page.

And you're definitely right, a book that gets the tears flowing is always a good one haha

I love that book so much 💕 I was super upset about how Wallace (:L) was pushing her, but when she wrote to the author of the Children of Hypnos (I can't remember her name for the life of me 😌) and she was essentially told that if she decides to finish it, she should finish it for herself, that really stuck with me. She was so torn up about how she would ruin his future if she didn't, but she knew she couldn't finish it. I love (and I hate) how upset she was over that; to me, it showed just how far she'd come socially that she was trying to push herself to help him <3
And that was a little bit long... But hullo, CS Book Club!!

I have wanted to read Eliza and her monsters for quite some time. I hope I will be crying too. (':

Thank you for visiting my profile! How are you doing, friend?

I'm a pretty laid-back person, I would say! Don't be afraid to PM me, I'd love to chat for a little while.
Trade offers are super duper welcome too, however, if I don't respond right away,
it might be because I'm either playing Stardew Valley or reading a book LOL.
I'll do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Your favorite book and/or author: At the moment, it's The Expanse series by James S.A. Corey (this will most likely change should I come across another book/series to obsess about).
Why is this your favorite?: Well, I'm a sucker for good Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, and the series definitely didn't disappoint. It has entertaining characters, an intriguing plot that never fails to shock me at every turn, and no matter how many books are released, I never seem to get tired of reading and rereading them as they come. I could honestly rant about this series for hours, but I'll just leave it at that for now, lol.
What genres do you like? As I said above, I love Science Fiction and Fantasy. I also tend to gravitate towards Horror/Thriller every now and again as well (I'm a huge fan of Stephen King).
Fun fact about you: Hmm... I immediately thought of two, so I'll just put both. I obsessively collect plushies (to an unhealthy degree), and I have emetophobia.
Anything else?: Ahh, I'm so happy someone has finally created a thread for book lovers! I haven't come across one until now. I'm excited to be a part of it~

Your favorite book and/or author: I love all of Marie Lu's books, especially her series the young elites!
Why is this your favorite?: In the book the main character is a strong willed character who has only one goal in mind. In the book there are "chosen" people who unintentionally were given powers by the gods. She wields the power of illusions, and the books are filled with occasional romance, and thrilling action! (It's not scary though just suspenseful ^^)
What genres do you like? I really love fiction! teenage highschool romances, elements and powers, action and those kinds of things interest me!
Fun fact about you: I like the anime Fairytail and the TV show Miraculous Ladybug! <3
Anything else?: ehehe I'm so excited to join I got lots of suggestions, thank you!

Your favorite book and/or author: Ohhh, This brings me back. I absolutely love Warrior Cats at the moment, probably to the point it’s unhealthy. I’ve finished the entire lot of books, and still waiting for Squirrelflights new book.
Why is this your favorite?: Probably because of all the violence drama and how the characters history fits so well together. I just finished reading Mapleshades vengeance, and I would be lying if I said I didnt cry a few times. The fact how characters can go from likeable to unlikeable to loveable really hits the heart for me, take Graystripe for example. Being a Warrior Code pacifist, I don’t think the relationship between them was okay. And plus, if it weren’t for Graystripe Silverstream might still be alive.
What genres do you like? Fantasy, crime, drama, horror and adventure
Fun fact about you: Mmmm... probably.. I’m practising to be an author?
Anything else?: Not really, but thank you for starting this <3

hi everyone~! thanks for joining!

@tony stark - once you get going on it, you'll find it is easy ^^; there are shelves which you add books you've read too and you can write reviews and get recommendations. it's really helpful for finding new books!

@whimble - do you mean real life plushies or CS ones? c: either way, awesome!

@xbunx - so glad to hear you got some recommendations from this thread!! that's awesome :D

@bashful., - i used to read the warriors series! the last book i read was the sixth book in the four series, so the book where you-know-who died. i wonder what's changed!
