Cross looked longingly at the house which he once was a part of. His owners had passed away and was being sold to someone who hated cats- and besides, they have a dog. He sighed and began to turn away from the house. He walked off towards the second place he called home, a serene little valley near a flowing river. There, he knew that no predators would prowl and try to attack him. It was his safe spot, especially in times of danger, longing, and loneliness, such as now. All he wanted was his owners back, and to have his friends with him. He leaned down and drank slowly from the river, savoring the taste. He lifted his head and looked solemnly at the direction at which he has came from. He missed his owners deeply and figured he would think about them a lot. He laid down by the river, the sun shining down on his fur. He curled up and watched the minnows swim by and the birds fly high above him. He slowly drifted off to sleep, thinking that maybe everything would be alright. He slept peacefully as the minnows swam by and the bird flew high above his sleeping figure.
