Akira had woken up early that morning, shuffling through the small cottage that had been bought for her on the outskirts of Death City. The blonde was overly tired, as most of the previous day had been spent once again trying to hone her abilities as a weapon. She didn't have a permanent meister - though many tried to claim her as their weapon she just didn't feel that connection - so she was stuck going through school without one. At home however, either the butler or maid sent over by her parents served as her meister when she expressed she needed one. As she entered the kitchen, she found a lavish breakfast sitting on the table awaiting her. With a content sigh, the princess sat down and picked at her food, eating the fruit off the plate before excusing herself. Akira never really had much of an appetite before, so this wasn't a big shock to the maid who had made the food for her charge. After excusing herself from the table, Akira headed to her room, changing out of her silk pajamas and into her daily attire, which consisted of a simple white dress, that had two red rosettes leading up to the straps of it. A pink ribbon adorned the corset like middle of the dress, and it was accompanied by long white gloves and a tiara as well as a choker with a red jewel in the middle and a silver necklace. This was the outfit approved by her parents, so she rarely wore anything else outside of her pajamas.
Picking up her bag, Akira was escorted out of the cozy cottage by her butler, whom she lovingly called 'Grandpa', though his name was actually Trevor, as he was about as old as her Grandfather would have been had he lived longer, and the butler had been with her all of her life, and acted much like a grandpa rather than a butler, spoiling the young princesses to no end. "So, Miss Akira, do you think this year is finally the year you will get a partner?" The butler, Trevor, asked the girl, causing her to flinch a bit."Oh i'm not sure" She let out a nervous laugh, shuffling her feet as she got into the car."I do indeed hope so, Grandpa, but I'm afraid I haven't had a connection with any meister over these past years, what if I'm destined to be a useless weapon without one? I can understand a scythe or a dagger doing just fine without a meister, look at Justin Law! He became a Death Scythe without a meister!" She explained, staring out the window as the scenery passed by. Trevor just hummed at her words, trying to think of an appropriate response, but nothing came to the man. Akira had a point, both her weapon forms were not suited to be used on her own, without a meister to wield her. The rest of the drive to the DWMA was silent, neither of them speaking until the car pulled to the side of the road in front of the large building. Akira waved goodbye, and Trevor wished her a nice day before driving off, most likely to run errands.
Akira quickly ascended the large set of stairs that led to the front of the main building of the school. Her white messenger bag was gripped tightly to her chest as she made her way up the steps. It didn't take long, though, for her to make her first mistake of the new school year. In her hurry to get up the steps,in hopes of meeting someone whom she clicked with, she ran into a boy. Stumbling backward, she dropped her bag, it's contents spilling out. Luckily for her, however, all she had inside was a cellphone, a few notebooks and some pencils. She scrambled on the ground, picking them up and righting herself. Dusting off her dress she sighed with relief when she saw it hadn't come out stained. After blinking a few times, the initial shock running out of her system, she spoke, bow profusely."I am so sorry, sir! I did not mean to run into you, I should have been paying more attention!" As she apologized, the looked over the boy she had toppled into, a slight jolt running through her,one she just played off as the adrenaline going away,or her nerves calming down. Akira took in his features, and she couldn't deny he was handsome, a light blush danced on her face and her blue eyes sparkled a bit. Her tiara was a little crooked, not that she noticed though,so there she stood, outside the doorway, almost all the eyes on her and Yuichi - though she didn't know his name yet - The princess has become a common sight for many of the older students, but most of the students outside at the moment were new to the DWMA, hence their surprise and stares that someone of royal descent was here, sure they had heard rumors but none believed them true. Yet here she was, Akira Winterbourne, the princess and heir to the english throne.
