In case anyone hasn't heard yet -- if you're in Europe, the Middle East or Africa the Slakoth Community Day will be re-done due to the weather system going down 20 minutes into the event, resulting in Slakoth spawns becoming very rare for the remaining 2+ hours. They haven't specified a date yet, but apparently it will be later this summer.

I was working at the time so I couldn't take part, so I'm kinda happy it's getting re-done lol

Also just realised I didn't update the raid chart for Adventure Week asdfghjkl

Although being from America, we did have the weather during the event (it got fixed right before ours, thankfully!). While they did spawn well enough for the weather condition (sunny for us, even though it was actually mostly cloudy in real life), the shinies felt a lot more... limited? I don't know why, I normally have really good luck with shinies (16-22 on average), but this time around I only got 6? Despite catching over 80 of them and shiny checking an additional 20+, the odds seemed really low? It's odd.

I hope others had much better luck and I hope when they redo it, you guys get more spawns than we did here!

Im still relatively new to Pokemon Go. I only started playing at the beginning of last month (im only lvl 21)

Its hard cause the area im in is more rural and there are only a few pokestops and gyms within walking distance. I dont own a vehicle. We recently moved, the area before was a little better but not by much.

Is there anyway to suggest new pokestops and gyms in areas that dont have many?

If I remember rightly there's two ways to suggest new stops and gyms, but Niantic haven't made it easy:

1. Pokestop Nominations - a beta feature that is currently only available to level 40 players. It has been slowly rolling out over the last year, so it's not available in all countries yet, and I'm guessing that the level restrictions will eventually be lowered (since level 40 takes a long time to get to)

2. Ingress Crossover - It's not a direct way to suggest new stops and gyms, but you can use the Operation Portal Recon tool in Niantic's other game, Ingress Prime, to suggest new portals in the Ingress world which may eventually carry over to the Pokemon world, since Niantic reportedly use Ingress portal data quite regularly to create new stops and gyms. However, like the Pokestop Nominations feature, I believe it's also only available to higher level players

Other than that, there's not much else you can do except for hopping over to a less rural area that's nearby. These kinds of games are really tough on rural players, so I kinda hope something can be done about it sooner rather than later.

Could just be coincidence, but I got that impression, too. I caught about 100 this time and checked a bunch more, but I only found 3 shinies and the last was just 2 minutes before the event ended. I've gotten 4+ from every other community day so far where I've been able to participate for the whole 3 hours, and this time I actually caught more Pokemon than I did in any CD before. I was satisfied with my catches by the end, but I did feel like the rates were lower than in the past.

Besides that, though, I had a wonderful time this Community Day. I had a chance to go into the city where there are way more Pokestops and other players around than in my local town, and I actually got to join in for a few raids on the side, which I can't usually do when I'm out on my own. Was able to finish my 3-raid quest for an Absol and catch a Cresselia. c:

Well now that adventure week is over how did it go for everyone? Did anybody reach the 50km mark?

I ended up with 2 shiny anorith, 2 shiny lileep, and 2 shiny onix, probably my best event so far! I was looking for the second Onix for my brother and I'm so glad I got it! I knew it was one he wanted and he didn't have much time to do the field research. This event as a whole is probably one of my favorites I've taken a part in, it was really fun to get out there and find new places! I hope everyone else enjoyed it as well.

Just did my first proper Raid Hour and came away with 3 Cresselia's!



I spent a little bit of money to get more premium passes but it was worth it - especially for the 1607 CP one, which was the last raid we did and I managed to catch her with the last ball, thank god. No shiny's on my end, though, but one of my friends got one the first raid we did lol

To be fair, your usual luck sounds extremely good.
Shiny odds on CDays are 1:25 and I mostly catch about ~300 Pokemon and click just a few more. I never had close to 20 ever.
(I quit Cyndaquil CDay after half of the time and caught 12 up till then so I could theoretically have gotten more. Or not. We'll never know.)

Many active players who play throughout the whole 3 hours get around 2-6 (bad luck) shinies, 7-13 (normal luck) and everything above is great luck from what I've experienced since we had CDays.
There are usually 100+ users playing in the park where I go to and we talk a lot during the timeframe.

Got exactly 0 shinies during this event, I'm so sad.
Still have 2 Onix chances in quests, but that's it. Did so many Onix quests and raids. TwT

I've had some WILD shiny luck the past 10 days or so! Only took 26 or so Horsea seen, but I grinded out a lot of other encounters today - the spawn rate on them hasn't been so great here.

We took a trip to the beach really late last night and I found a Shiny Horsea there! I haven't been getting a lot of shiny luck as of late - I didn't nab a single one from Adventure Week or from the Cresselia Raid Hour - so I'm pretty happy with it.

There was a gym down there too and I put one of my Salamence's in there. Checked later and one of the Pokemon already in the gym had been there for 4 days, so we'll see how long it takes for him to come back lol
