Just caught my first Snorlax and it took exactly three balls, too. It looks like the first two balls don't even count? I wasn't paying attention on the first one, but I definitely had 11 pokeballs before the second throw and still had 11 after that one failed. Then the Snorlax stayed in the ball with the third throw and now I have 10 balls left.

There's an update incoming that is allegedly supposed to fix the pokeball thing with Snorlax. Apparently it was meant to be a almost guaranteed catch the first time. It is asleep after all haha. Though I did encounter a funny visual glitch yesterday where Snorlax had woken up after switching into AR mode and back out again.

The update is also supposed to have a fix for Adventure Sync and, while it hasn't been confirmed by Niantic yet, data miners have found something really interesting to do with Jirachi that hints at another Special Research Event -side eyes-

Anyone else find gym battles to be really buggy recently? I've been having all kinds of issues, from the charged attack button not working, to being unable to swap out pokemon (as in, the party menu opens, but even after I tap on any of them, my pokemon just keeps taking damage and doesn't get switched out), and then when I beat all the pokemon in a gym, I sometimes get a message that all my pokemon have fainted, when none did??
This happened on my old phone, as well as my new one so it doesn't seem to be a phone issue. I havent heard anyone else talking about it, though.

I haven't encountered any of these in a while, but a few days ago I did have the one where beating the gym resulted in the 'all your pokemon have fainted' message. I was really confused but it corrected itself not long after and I could carry on as normal. I don't know what could be causing that one lol

As of the moment all the sleeping Snorlax encounters are "scripted" and will all catch on the third throw (and only use 1 pokeball despite 3 thrown) just like mew/celebi. You also only need to use a berry once on any one of the three throws, and the game shouldn't let you use any more than one. ^^

Since the catch rate is guaranteed I'd recommend using some pinaps to get more Snorlax candies!!

im going to add to this, you cant use it for '3 great throws' only the catch throw counts to that

I remember being on a bus to work, and it took me a good half of the trip to catch one of them. And I'm quite good about not missing. I remember being annoyed at it too, in a kind of "I'm not going to use a better ball/berries on you, I already have decent Snorlaxes...." way, so huh.

I caught about three Snorlax (all of them have 1000+ attack points!), and I can confirm that you only catch them on the third try, and that the first two balls don't count.

Super happy about this event, I was able to power up my Snorlax back up to being in my main team 👌I have caught about 10 of them so far

It was ironically fixed I think the day I made the post, + only applied specifically to the sleeping snorlax (I think if they glitched to standing in the encounter screen it also didn't apply)

Yea but my expeirence was way before your post I think, from the look of my first post, probably on the first event day and it was definitely a sleeping one.

In case anyone hasn't heard yet -- if you're in Europe, the Middle East or Africa the Slakoth Community Day will be re-done due to the weather system going down 20 minutes into the event, resulting in Slakoth spawns becoming very rare for the remaining 2+ hours. They haven't specified a date yet, but apparently it will be later this summer.

I was working at the time so I couldn't take part, so I'm kinda happy it's getting re-done lol

Also just realised I didn't update the raid chart for Adventure Week asdfghjkl
