Alessa's plea alerted Martha and she came skidding toward the dining room. She eyed Kit, the smashed vase, and Alex in terrified tears. She marched right in and seized Kit by the scruff sharply.
"We talked about this, Kit! What the heck are you doing!?"

In surprise and embarrassment, Kit pouted.
"I am King! I may do as I please!"
Martha clicked her tongue in disappointment.
"You know your parent's last wish to you before they lost they're lives. Now go and apologize to these young ladies."

Alessa let the orb disappear and rushed to Alex. She clung onto the feline, wanting to comfort her. The girl was still terrified of Kit. This wasn't the first outburst he had in front of her. "I... I want you to apologize for kicking me last night." she said, building up the courage to talk to him. She had apologized for hurting him; now she wanted an apology back.

Kit groaned.
"I'm...sorry."
Martha slowly unhinged her claws from his scruff.
"That's better, now go to your room. Don't come out till the sun sets."
Alex, still silently crying, hugged Alessa warmly.
"Thank you..."

[Boomer]

Alessa nodded a little, resting her head against Alex's chest. "You don't have to thank me." she said softly, "You're my friend. I never had friends, besides Scarlett, but I know friends help each other." She grew attached to people very quickly. She then turned to Martha. "Thank you." she said quietly, "I wish I had known to call you earlier. It m-might've saved me from getting screamed at and kicked."

As Kit shamefully stalked out, Martha came over and embraced them both.
"It's okay dear, you didn't realize I have mystical powers over the King." She chuckled.
Alex sniffed.
"I-I think the vase really did some damage. It's hurts a lot more than the previous times he's struck me..."

Alessa wasn't happy to hear that at all. She didn't believe in hitting someone. She looked to the bruise on her leg. "That's going to hurt for a couple days." she murmured. Alessa had experiences all kinds of bruises over the years. She turned to Martha. "Should we get Alex to your room?" she asked.

Martha furrowed her brow solemnly.
"Yes, this obviously needs to be checked out." Martha propped herself on Alex's left side to aid her in making the journey to the nurse's office.

Alessa took Alex's paw, more for comfort than leading. She walked with them to the office. It was clear that she was quite concerned about Alex. She felt her stomach growl, as she was rather hungry. "Oh..." she frowned.

Martha raised a brow in Alessa's direction.
"Hungry? I have a snack pile in a low cabinet near the back you can rummage through."

"Thank you." she said happily, going over to the cabinet. She grabbed three packets of crackers. She offered one to Alex and one to Martha. She then sat down and nibbled on the crackers.
