As a small loading icon appeared, Tails focused on the others in the room. "It's some sort of navigational menu for these tablets-- like a table of contents," he said to the approaching kattaca. He turned to face the device in question and pointed at each section he talked about. "There's 'current', the one about ourselves with the list of some people that we all saw when we first woke up; 'previous'; 'all'; and then 'considering', which is the one I selected. It's loading right now, though. We'll have time to go through all of them, but I just chose this one because it looked like the most interesting category."

The conversation between Dib and Torsolus was a bit odd, Tails thought. Everyone being from completely different universes? It didn't seem likely, if even possible. How would it be possible to gather them all up in one place? But then again, he had never seen anyone that looked like Torsolus. He was about to respond when the tablet beeped and the 'considering' display had loaded.

It was a list of names with their soul complexity and a note. It finally clicked-- these must have been people they had considered taking in. He scrolled through the list, but suddenly stopped when he spotted a familiar name. "Sonic!" he shouted. Fortunately, this was the considerations, which meant he wasn't here... but the note attached to his brother's name scared him. The word eliminate stood out, bold through Tails' eyes. He knew Sonic could probably take down those robots any day, but discovering the technology they had, possibly being able to travel through universes, worried the fox deeply. He suddenly no longer cared about the tablet-- "No! We need to get home, now!"

“APOLOGY”.

The word was written in sharpie on what closely resembled a USB stick.

Alone in a dark control center was probably the last place anyone expected a red echidna to be standing. And with the USB stick being illuminated on the desk by the room’s only light source—a digital map tracking the escapees’ movements—only he could know what he was going to do next.

Some of the escapees remained in place in the corridor, while the rest began to approach the control room. At their current rate, they’d arrive in a few minutes.

Knuckles picks the USB up, snorting as he read the words. He examined the blips on the map, rubbing his chin as he noted the people nearby. I suppose the waiting game wouldn't hurt here... While Knuckles waited for some of the escapees' to arrive, he studied the rest of the map, trying to memorize as much of the layout as he could.

As Richter listened to the conversation, he gradually forgot about being angry. The situation described by the others was entirely unfamiliar to him, and sounded dire. Where exactly did they come from, anyway? It was clearly somewhere very, very far away from his homeland, because he had a feeling he'd have heard about such things happening if they were even remotely close by. That would definitely also explain their strange armor and other gear--he'd ever seen anything even remotely similar to it where he came from.

"Do you know what caused the transformations?" Richter asked Jade, seeming truly concerned about the matter.

Only a soft murmur and a shift of her arms in response. Todd sighed gently - he knew for a fact that Tori didn’t like being woken up from her naps (as he’d learned that lesson the hard way), and today would probably be no different, despite how much he hoped it would be. Maybe she’d understand if he explained it how it was?
“Big building. Don’t know where are.”
Tori grumbled, stirring slightly as Todd leaned a little closer to her. Hopefully she wouldn’t be too mad at him - he didn’t like when Tori got mad at him. That wasn’t nice.

Finally, her mismatched eyes cracked open, her piercing glare shooting daggers into Todd as he shifted a bit uncomfortably. “What are you going on about now?” she growled groggily, sitting up and rubbing her head slightly, quickly adding, “And why does my head hurt so bad? Todd, what did you do?”
Todd shook his head frantically. “Todd did nothing!” he chirped telepathically. “Woke up here! You sleeping on ground! Todd was worried!”
Tori jumped at the sudden loudness of his voice and winced. “Todd, keep it down - I have a headache,” she hissed. She ignored his meek apology as she glanced up at the futuristic building in front of them, eyes widening slightly.

It appeared much too technologically advanced for any mere man to have created… It was large, with several complex structures that even just looking at seemed like a pain in the neck to go through. It wouldn’t surprise her if there was a maze inside… Just where were they?
Tori stood suddenly, waving Todd away with a grumble as he tried to help her up. “Todd, look for an entrance. We’re going to find whoever’s in charge of this place and see if they have a phone.”

Todd shook his head quickly. “Todd doesn’t like that idea,” he whimpered in Tori’s head. “This place scary, Todd no like…”
“Man up. We’re going in.” She turned to the taller with a firm glare as she grabbed his hand, dragging him along with her.

Jade looked over at Richter when he asked her if she knew what caused the transformations. “No, sadly I don’t. I’m sure there’s people researching it, but they haven’t announced anything, so I guess they haven’t made much progress.” She then turned her attention to Five-Seven ‘And I guess they all just line up for rehabilitation. I hope your LRDS knows what they’re doing.’ Jade stopped in her tracks, and turned to TH-3157 “and what exactly do you mean by that?” She had a defensive tone with a hint of something threatening. Her eyes were currently hidden by her visor, but her lips were drawn back in a displeased frown, and her nose was wrinkled in distaste

Flint scanned the names on the list, as Tails scrolled through them. He didn’t recognize any of them but that was clearly different for Tails ‘SONIC! We have to go home! now!’ “Puppy, you ok?” He read that name in particular, and the memo under it. “Man... ok, yeah. We need to put a stop to this. This seems... a lot bigger than I originally thought.”

Knuckles sighed as he finally looked away from the map and back to the USB in his hand. where could I even plug this thing in? He decided that he was done waiting, and looked at one of the clusters of people on the map. Its now or never.
With that final thought, Knuckles walked out of the control room, and towards what he hoped would be some friendly faces.

Torsolus slowly studied the long list of names and the notes next to them. His eyes got wider as he read. His voice came in a solemn whisper.

“I know some of these people.”

3157 carved another arrow into the wall, with perhaps a bit more force than was necessary. "It's dark riders at first," she said, "obviously. They're unstable, they're a threat. And then when they're all gone, it's the potential dark riders." The transhuman carved another arrow, even more forcefully. "And then when they're all gone, it's anyone. Get angry, rehab. Get frustrated, rehab. Show any kind of negative emotion, rehab. And then the world is perfect. Nobody's sad because nobody can be sad. Heaven on earth." This time she abandoned the pretense entirely, and straight up stabbed the wall, the stone cracking beneath her cybernetic fist.

He turned towards the hominid, his heart still racing and tails dropped to the floor from their usual swinging position behind him. "Huh?" How many worlds had Torsolus traveled to? Something struck him in his mind. "How did you go to so many different worlds? We could use-- however you did it-- and warn these people! They're all in danger!" So many names were on the 'considering' list... Tails remembered one of the other options, 'all'. Should he...?

With a shaking hand, he selected 'all' from the menu.
