Haddon Sports Ponies were once used as packhorses in the 18th century, carrying goods from long distances in difficult terrain. They are now used as show ponies are great for novice riders as they are patient, laid back and have a naturally good pace. These ponies have hard, neat feet, suitable for rough terrain. Their legs are straight and set apart so their actions are straight and smooth. Some have a small amount of feathering on their legs that is soft and silky, whereas others may not. Their mane and tail grows quickly and is naturally wavy. Most of these ponies will stand between 13h to 14.2h. However, some can stand up to 15h, but this rarely occurs and are still referred to as ponies.
