The redhead hummed calmingly awhile longer before shaking her head a few times. She nodded at Akira, saying “Yeah.” She tilted her head a moment, then shook her head again. Smiling at Carniss, she too reached for reins, untying the raven maned gelding. “Well, um...you put a foot in that stirrup there” she said, pointing, then continued “And swing your other leg over his back, putting that foot in the other stirrup.” she explained, shrugging.

He continued to hum quietly even as Theo spoke to him, nodding at the other dark haired male. He shrugged as he then said “Okay.” and also noticed how Theo’s eyes widened at his humming...His expression relaxed, Akihito saw, but could still feel his tenseness even so. He made the smallest of sounds when the dark haired vampire pulled the cloak at his neck and throat slightly tighter, releasing a small breath. He quietly thanked him, squeaking quietly when Theo moved a bit closer. He was glad Theo was so protective of him, because Aralynn would definitely start a war if he died...Not to mention he thought he was developing a crush on Theo. He nodded at Theo, understanding parts he added extra detail to. He yelped when the vulture landed on Theo, whimpering a bit then reining it in. He’d even nearly stepped away...but didn’t.

He gasped softly, and squeaked a bit, when Theo pulled him in and even placed his chin on his head. He couldn’t see what Theo was doing, but could hear the vulture’s screeches and flailing wings, as they were quite loud. He heard Theo seemingly taunting the bird again, sighing softly as he couldn’t do what he really wanted right now: shake his head. He heard Theo ask if Ren had anything metal, then Ren was handing over the fur scarf and speaking. “Um...no...but she seems to be apologizing to her friend, who apparently...looks like a teenage girl?” he asked, confused about that.

Koon, a beautiful tan, dark brown and white sheepdog, yipped and pawed at his owner. Jamie huffed at their dog, blinking open their eyes and staring over the side of the bed at him a moment. He’d settled back down down there after they’d huffed. They sat up, swinging their feet over the edge then standing. Stretching, they brushed their hair, changed into day clothes and went downstairs, Koon by their side.

Rn tapped his foot,he wasn’t sure what to do now. He partly wanted to leave and head back to the castle but he still wanted to hang out in Ember for a bit. Ruby played with her hair. “Ren did you feed at all today? Because when I saw that plump woman in the ground..it looked like you attacked her.” Ren nodded. “Yes but that was a while ago,nthey must have found her corpse. I didn’t kill her I just knocked her out, something else must have attacked her.”

"Even so I'd feel better if I didn't have to worry about having to possibly explain you to someone because of being unnecessarily risky. So humoring me some would be very much appreciated. At least promise me you'll try to not be very suspicious or obvious when you come see me again and from her on.", said the blonde human teen before a humph sound left her. She grit her teeth fighting the urge to snap back a retort. The only reason she didn't was because this was expected. After all Duality was tolerating her as a food source just as Aralynn was tolerating him in return as a protector for Akihito and Akira. Conversation was necessary because communication between the two was necessary, and not just to keep things from being weird. After a moment, "I can't have you weak, that much I know as it is only obvious. If you're weak you'll be utterly useless in finding my sister and protecting my people's futures.", said the queen.

Fallon followed after Konan and Henrietta only to come to a stop beside his friend having come upon a sight. The two had found the canine alright, apparently it had smelled and tracked a lynx mix which was padding near by. Fallon crossed his arms, "So she smelled cat, looks like shes a dog alright. Didnt think she would actually hate felines like they say though." Turning to his companion the male noticed the dark haired vampire was acting off again, "Kon?"

Theo nodded and gratefully took it and wrapped it around Akihito’s neck, slowly loosening his grip and finally dropping his arms to his sides. He had let go of the vulture as he did so; what with all of the things covering the heir’s neck now, it would be a pain for anyone to bite through, after all. At least Ruby seemed to have calmed down after talking to Ren, who he learned the name of after she spoke it. He had perhaps missed their exchanges earlier when he had threatened Akihito.

It seemed a rather quick shift of motive though, and for that the vampire clenched his jaw and glared uneasily at the girl. His expression softened a bit when a castle was mentioned and Ren looked attended at a comment Ruby had made. “Castle....?” He murmured, trying to connect the dots. “W-wait, are one of you an heir to Runemeth?” Theo asked carefully. Two in a day was a new record, but it could also hint towards just how much Theo cared about the current political standings.

His attention slipped elsewhere when Akihito confirmed his suspicion of being unarmed. “Hm, well, I should like to take you out after this to get a little something. Even if you just use it as a scare tactic. And... I don’t think we should repeat that part, since it seems to have overstepped a boundary...” The darker haired man peered gently over at Ren with an attempt to give him a reassuring smile. “I believe so. The only concern right now might be getting some air- I was holding him pretty tightly.” Theo felt his ears turn warm at the confession, though his tone was light-hearted in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Thank you Ruby.” He said with a nod. The boy was still on guard just in case but tried not to make it too obvious. “So, um, despite the situation, I’m Theo.” He nodded a greeting to Ruby, then, “unfortunately with all the deaths nearby it’s only a letter of time before they find us.”

He hummed softly a moment then paused, tilting his head as he looked to Theo when he put it around his neck, then further hiding his neck and throat even. He let out a quiet sigh when Theo released him too, but then shook his head and scolded himself...He tilted his head again as he stared down the girl a minent, though shed said sorry to Ren just a monent ago. He nodded at Ruby when she said sorry to him and such, saying “Thank you...” He glanced to the trwo of them then Ren, tilting his head again. “You two are the vampire prince and princess?” he asked Ruby and Ren. He offered a smile to Theo, then shook his head once more.

He blushed when Theo mentioned going, but quickly realized he wasn’t asking him on a date...was he? Shrugging, he was about to speak, but then had a thought. “Why don’t we go out for dinner? Or a walk or something...” he said with a mutter. He’d completely forgotten about Aralynn saying she was going to make him, Akira and herself dinner...He blushed himself at the mention of being held... “Um, about later...” he muttered, wondering if Theo actually remembered the earlier discussion about bites...He wasn’t sure, as they had sort of been attacked by Ruby. He hummed quietly again, a constant flow of soft and gentle sound as he glanced between them for a moment. “Well, Ren and Ruby can turn into Avians...Owls and such frequently rest on rooftops.” he muttered. “Theo, you can turn into a dog...” he wondered if Theo knew where he was going with that.

Henrietta whined back at Konan a moment, then turned her head back to the lynx domestic mix, growling again... Her hackles were still raised, as if protecting her vampire from it. The feline, who looked much more like a alyn and therefore how Konan had identified it, hissed and glared at the dog, puffing up. Konan yelped softly, half turning and ramming into Fallon, or...maybe there was a better word for it...Eyes squeezed shut, she clung to him and shook her head. “N-No...She’s protecting me...Sh-She likes house and b-barn cats...” the raven muttered.

Ruby was now standing next to Ren now. She looked was much shorter then Ren. “Actually Ren can shift into almost any mammal, I taught him how to shift into a couple birds. You are right about me only being able to shift into birds though ” She gave Theo a friendly smile. Ren didn’t smile or talk really, he was too focused on the sounds around him. He didn’t like all this standing around, he felt targeted, or more accurately hunted. Staying still made him Anxious. He started to pace a bit. Ruby watched Ren pace. “Ren is the heir to the Runemeth,I’m just his best friend. I don’t have an assigned job..yet.” Ren nodded silently as Ruby didn’t mention anything about him being trans. Ruby knew that Ren wanted to keep that a secret since he often got teased for it.

"hmm....Alright." she stated, following the instructions Jessica had given her. It took her a few tries, but she eventually managed to get up. "that was..harder then it sounded." she stated, before going silent as she waited for Jessica to mount her horse and lead the way back to the castle. " So....tell me. If these vampires you speak of are real....what on earth do you all do for food." of course, the existence of vampires would explain a lot of things...but she just couldn't comprehend the possibility at the time. So, rather then fully believing, she would stick to learning for now, just in case they were real.

He spoke again, but his voice had a gentler tone to it, and he almost seemed like a different person in terms of his actions. " I'm more worried about the male heir....he seems too trusting. Too curious. I could see him doing something stupid out of curiousity. I don't want to see other endure a similar fate to that of my own." after speaking, he returned to how he was, sneaky and mischievious.

The vampire gave a knowing smirk upon seeing the blush rise to Akihito’s face, bowing his head a bit when he mentioned plans for afterwards. “I’d like that, and why not both? After stopping by a shop I hope, since the merchants will only be selling their wares for another hour. Ah, and at some point you’ll have to return Ren’s scarf.” Theodore’s hand was at his chin now as he nodded his head towards the other vampire.

He raised his eyebrows when the human mumbled something about ‘later’. Later? Had he mentioned something earlier? A brief second of confusion crossed his face before his eyes widened with recognition. “Hmm, what about later..?” He questioned, his teeth poking out from his lips now that he pursed lips. Just then he heard Ruby speak up again and turned his dark gaze towards her.

Theo flushed and scratched the back of his head in embarrassment upon finding out that Ren was actually royalty. “Heh, guess I really have a knack for sniffing out heirs that I don’t know the status of, huh?” He chuckled, hoping no offence came to either from the comment. Shifting forms was an extremely regular thing for Theo to do, and he lived most of his life switching between them to survive. He was too lazy to go through the process of getting a home in his over-a-century of living.

Because of all the practice he had shifting from creature to creature, he also had a lot of forms to choose from. He nodded while Ruby spoke on her friend’s behalf. “Ah, I have quite the selection as well, though I personally prefer a cat. Much easier moving.” Theo’s eyes flickered over to the ever-quiet Ren for a second. Was he still upset from Ruby’s comment? Perhaps he’d ask him later, if the vampire heir would actually be up for answering. For now though...

“So if the three of us could change into animals, where would that leave Aki?” Theo crossed his arms across his chest, looking back towards the human prince. “Can you climb? If not then I’m sure I could get you to the ground before anyone sees.” Just as he finished his sentence a soft hiss left his mouth and he crouched, leaning away from the ledge a guard was walking under. They were calling out for anyone that was there, and most of the civilians in the area had cleared because of the bloodied victims that had appeared in less than an hour. Theodore studied his movements carefully- so carefully, in fact, that he hadn’t registered his shift into the body of a black and white tuxedo cat. He only realised it when a nervous growl played from his throat, to which he looked back over at his companions with wide, slitted eyes. “Seems they’re planning us a welcome party.” He meowed sarcastically, pacing over to the edges of the roof. “There doesn’t seem to be any kind of ladder or steps, but there is a stack of boxes over here. Akihito, would you be okay with that?”

The feline had stopped his trot towards the far corner, closest to the main road. There was a risk to be seen from anyone on it, however there were no guards in that location yet and his finding of the boxes was indeed true. Theo sat down and stared at the small group as he awaited an answer.

"Yes of course it is.", said Aralynn hearing sneaking around was the young man's cup of tea. Of course the young queen would be the one to deal with the possible assasin-gaurdian guy who liked to, and did, come and go as he pleased. Though she supposed the situation could always be worse. They could have never met and had a form of agreement, or Duality could be some crazy psychopathic barbarian. Despite being off and raising her caution levels sky-high, there wasn't anything.....malicious per say.....about him. If anything Duality more annoyed the blonde rather then anything else. Aralynn was convinced this young man was more then capable of killing her, not that the teen would risk stroking his already well inflated ego by admitting such a thing. "It would put my mind at ease yes. And maybe I'll carry around a pan to hit you with when you make me jump instead of a knife, none lethal even if you say the blade won't hurt you, but gets the point accross. Plus if you are going to cause me any stress might as well relief it with you too.", said the human girl trying to be snarky having the urge to see the young man squirm if just a bit only once.

Though when Duality's persona seemed to change, well did change, her attention was pricked. She eyed thw young man she was talking to up and down carefully. Odd... "Aki isn't your concern right now. He's either in his chambers or the royal library right now. He's perfectly safe and I insistuted a curfew which is for more then just here at the castle, it's city wide. It doesn't matter how curious or trusting he is because he'll be here waiting for Akira regardless.", said Aralynn without looking away from her companion. Though really knowing absolutly nothing about him, for some reason Duality almost morphed into a totally different person right before the young queen's eyes catching her attention. Gentleness briefly seeped into Duality's voice pulling at an aray of emotions in her gut all but annoyance as she had been feeling until then. Though Aralynn knew she had to be hearing things for a moment, just the most brief of moments, the young women was sure she could hear genuine gentleness. Keep the prince from suffering the fate he had? What for all that was good was that supposed to mean? He looked perfectly fine to the female royal standing there talking with her as they were.

Ren continued to stay quietly he shifted into a small Fox and gracefully climbed down using the boxes. He stayed as a fox as he watched Ruby shift into a bird and fly over to him. She shifted back and played with Ren’s fox ears. Ren grumbled and shifted back to his human form and continued to look around for any humans that were alone. He was hungry now and staying near Akihito reminded him how often a large vampire like himself needed to feed. But he didn’t want Akihito to see,in case he scared him or something.

Ruby watched Ren Look around and standing directly into a patch of sunlight where the guards could definitely see him. “Ren you might want to move, the guards might see you.” Ren shrugged. “So what if they do? The guards and all the other citizens of Ember see me here often. Most of the time they just think I’m a grumpy antisocial Hunter that wanders around a lot.”
