Catherine wrapped her arms around his middle with a frown. “I don’t know why we would be,” she responded, looking out the window. The idea of a war being that close sent shivers up her spine, knowing that people wanted to harm them. She looked back up at him “Does your dad know?” she asked.

No he doesn't the spies go directly to me. I will have to tell my father the news. We also have to see what the messenger has to say. They could be not attacking us because they are waiting for an answer."Xander hugs Catherine and is worried about the future of the kingdom and for Catherine.

Catherine hugged him back and laid her head against him with a gentle frown. She hoped that everything would turn out good even though she knew it wouldn’t and that something bad was bound to happen. “I hope that maybe the messenger has some good news..” she murmured, but didn’t have much faith in that.

I hope so as well, I would hate these our lands to have blood shed.
But I will fight if needed." He walks with her out of the room to walk around a bit at least.
The messenger is rushing into town and into the castle, getting off his horse and into the castle towards the king to hand him a message. The king reads it and smiles just slightly. "Good there is at least a chance before this all happens." The king scribbles down a letter and hands it to the messenger and the messenger is off back to the other kingdom. The king gets up and starts to prepare for a meet up.

Catherine walked beside him quietly, her eyes on the ground as she walked. She was partially lost in thought, she knew since this whole thing had begun that there was a good chance that Xander would fight if it came to that. But hearing him say it made her more nervous for the future. She stayed close to his side as they walked together, raising her gaze again to watch their surroundings.

Xander looked at her worried on how she was feeling."Catherine everything will be alright." Xander walked with her to the dining hall to eat breakfast and to hopefully help with the mood. He did the usual with pulling her chair back for her.

Catherine looked up at him and gave him a smile, though she wasn’t convinced. A war was a big deal, and wasn’t something they dealt with before. She shook herself from her thoughts and thanked him for pulling back the chair. “What’s on the agenda today?” she asked with a little smile as she sat down in the chair.

"Well for now we should eat then we could probably practice or walk around. Or wait for more info to come. We should try to do something though I think." He starts to grab some food for breakfast and some bread with some spread for both of them (Butter and jam). He starts to eat some eggs and spreads butter on his bread this time.

As Catherine places food on her plate, she listened to him speak before she looked back over at him. “I could teach you how to ride?” she suggested and smiled a little at the thought of him on one of their horses. They had two currently, one was her mother’s and the other was her father’s. She spread jam onto her bread before eating it.
