african thicket gerbils (atgs) are a strain of gerbils that have adapted to live in the forests
of africa, burrowing underground among tree roots. they've since been kept as pets and are
very docile and love to be held. atgs are about the size of a netherland dwarf rabbit, being
slightly larger than the mongolian gerbil.

this adoptable is genetics based, but it's much less realistic than a typical genetics adoptable,
each coloring and marking have their own gene that is added on to the genotype of each atg.
