I have been hoping to be able to go to MFF this year as a birthday and/or Christmas gift and it seems like my mom is willing to take me since I’m a minor who can’t drive and can’t book a hotel room alone. This would be my first con and I had a few questions. Firstly, how much would it cost to stay at MFF for the whole convention (excluding additional purchases)? Secondly, if we wanted to take a plane (we live about 3 hours away but it would be a bit more convenient), how much extra could we expect to pay in order to transport my fursuit (it is currently unfinished but I plan to make a full or 3/4 digitigrade by the time of the con)? Thirdly, how much money should we plan to put aside for the dealers den and such? And finally, what are some must sees? Thank you in advance! God bless! :D
For most of your costs you'll have to check their website. Idk how many nights and at what hotel to give a price for that, but reg is about $50. However hotels are becoming an issue at MFF since they've grown so large. They're gonna try a new raffle-based booking system, but you have to reg to try and book a room at main hotel and possibly the overflows. Last year all hotels within walking distance sold out a few hours after opening, and main hotel booked in under 2 minutes(hence the new raffle system). It's a great con, but you're gonna want to wait until they have their hotel system fully announced(should be within a couple weeks?) to make any solid plans.
EDIT: Depending on your location though I do recommend Indy Fur Con(Indianapolis, IN), Motor City Fur Con(Detroit, MI), FurSquared(Brookfield, WI), AquatiFur(Wisconsin Dells, WI), Furry Migration(Minneapolis, MN), and FurReality(Cincinnati, OH)
