Never really knowing his mother, Evan is an only
kit who was raised by his father. He's a strong
and hardworking kal, who'd do anything to see
his loved ones happy and safe!
Despite his often motherly nature, he can get
pretty overprotective and clingy, and is quite loud
about his opinions most of the time.

The outskirts are like a wasteland. Deserted, colorless, and the people think it's a miracle that the fields are even able to grow crops.
As much of a shining city Cynaryn is, the sky outside the walls is gray, the sun is usually obscured by clouds and the water is often tainted with the city's waste.
At night, dangerous creatures come out of their hiding and lurk around in the wasteland. They don't damage the crops and the plants that're able to stay alive there, but they will attack anything that moves and breathes.
There are some notable places the kalons living there think of as landmarks. One of these, for example, is the Flatrock: it's a huge rock close to the walls of the city where kalons (at least those who dare come out from behind the safety of the walls) of the city and those from the outskirts trade goods and food.
Another more notable place is the Devil's Crossroads, "a crossroads of meetings, trades, bets and a place to sell a soul to the devil himself", as they usually describe it. And indeed many trades and things have happened here, fates got decided, important meetings were done here, and this is the only place that's lamps, for some reason, are always lit.

But nevertheless, this is the place Evan calls home. He grew up being taught how to survive out there, how to ensure that the crops survive, and how to defend himself in case he's not near a light source.
Because in the dark, strange and grotesque beings come out of hiding; their bodies are usually black or a dark color, their skin or fur is oily, sometime so much so that it's dripping down from their body. Multiple eyes or mouths are common amongst them as well as more than usual body parts.

Evan Rose is a child of the wasteland: the kalons in Cynaryn call those who were born and raised in the outskirts because the survival rate for such small kits is not that high, to say the least.
He had a decent childhood. He learned how to grow plants where it seems impossible, how to make torches out of almost anything, and how to get away from the horrible monsters that lurk around at night.
Up until now, he spent his days helping his father tend to the farm they lived on; overall, he's a strong and persistent kalon who's always ready to help!

But, as with everyone, he has his downsides too. Despite his caring nature, Evan can sometimes be pushy when it comes to getting something done. "You gotta fight off that fear of yours!" he says, but his way of doing that being the "throw you into the deep water and learn to swim that way" doesn't always work for others, of course.

Aside from loving to help everyone, he enjoys reading poetry and taking care of flowers (though that's a rare opportunity for him, or rather "was", since he lives in the city now). If there's one thing he knows best aside from farming and lifting things, it's being a fantastic navigator! Learning this skill from his father, Evan knows which constellation is where, how to find North, and his memory regarding places and directions is amazing.
