The alpha female awoke from her slumber, yawning. Standing up, she padded outside her den to observe the awakening pack.

Patch shook the dirt from his fur before he began to clean his paws. It's probably best if I clean the dirt off me before exciting the den. He could see his brother Hyena out of the corner of his eye, but was unsure if he was awake or not.

Cassie looked at him, feeling a bit frustrated. Before she could reply, however, she heard the sound of footsteps and turned to see her human approaching.

"I have some news about Robin. I believe she's betraying the camp by conversing in the woods with this feral dog. I saw them with my own eyes!"

Denunya yawned as she flopped over on her side. She’d just left the pups to go get a drink of water, and had now returned. They were wanting to nurse, she guessed, so she’d lain on her side. The pups yipped as they pushed against her, finding purchase and suckling.

The little fox yawned as she climbed from her den, stretching out there. She yipped to herself, wagging her tail as she began to run about. Her belly grumbled, so she began looking for food. She was mostly scenting, but she was listening too.

The golden pelted canine nearly leaped from her skin as Robin started speaking. "Oi, mate, yaknows, I'ms pretty sures I'ms tryna avoid ya's." She huffed, her chest heaving with heavy breathing. Her pawpads hurt, and envisioning sinking them into that cold water made them feel better already.

"Oh.." Robin breathed, she tucked her tail lower and slowly backed off. "I...I don't know...thought we could be friends..."

She cocked her head a bit, slowly inching towards the water. "Wells, yous and me's quite different mate! I means, look'n me then look'n you!" She gestured towards the water with her muzzle, approaching the waters edge. "We's different mate, don't know if yous and me could be's friends."

"But that doesn't really matter. I bet we can find common interests and such..." Robin suggested. "I don't think looks matter."

"Wells, when yous got golden fur like mine, I think it matters, mate." She huffed, tail idly swishing before coming to simply hand at her haunches. "Yous a lots different than me mate! Lookin' at me! I be golden, slender n' fast, and yous... probably nots."

The brute trotted through the forest, now feeling at ease leaving the awful humans. Just the thought of them sparked a flame. In all his dreams involving the interesting mammals, they ended up dead, lifeless corpses hanging from his jaws. His hate for them goes much further than this brief encounter of course. Now his nose twitched rapidly, the scents of other canines coming into his vicinity. His brow furrowed and his eyes sharpened, a stern glare sweeping across the forest. His body was tense and his teeth slightly uncovered by his bloodstained maw. His torn up ears swiveled to where his eyes weren't, making sure he wasn't surprised.
