Oml the thing I find craziest is that like we used to not remove pets available for adoption after each month? Because I remember adopting SO MANY WARRIOR CATS that were released before 2009 even though I joined in 2009.

IKR? Some of those adopts were just casually sitting there for a whole year. Remember when they were super abundant because of that, so nobody wanted them or the bwolves or the old 2nd gens, and users who hoarded them were practically bombarded with trades because everyone was stumbling over their feet to give them their extras?
It's funny to see how popular and valuable the warriors are now. People are overpaying for them whereas nine, ten years ago you were lucky if you managed to trade them off at all :'D

I just read through this whole thread and wow, I feel so old.... So many memories, I can’t believe I’ve been here so long yet I just can never stay away for longer than a year, even if life gets extremely crazy for me.

I have to say, since coming back this time, I just feel so much older than a lot of folks. Like others said before, seems like CS truly does have a new generation of members and I feel like that mom trying to be hip with her teen daughters.... I mean I really don’t mind because I actually really like to people watch. Plus now that I’m retired, I feel like a ghost in the shadows just observing CS just chugging along while I keep hoarding groups of 20 pets because I am a little bit crazy.

Anyway, I look forward to years to come on here, even if it is just to adopt monthly releases and partake in events which I love <3

yeah at this point I'm like 'I don't understand trading anymore'. I feel so old being on here and remembering things like the beige layout, or way back when the pets were part of the standard clickable adopts coming out at the time, so no one even HAD accounts. WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE FORUMS.

for me, I have a hard time imagining pets that i remember adopting being worth as much as they actually are. especially store pets. i keep forgetting that it's been so long and these pets are 8+ years old and worth much more then my stubborn old mind seems to think. the days of trades like this are long gone lol

It will be interesting to see where the site goes from here. I didn't even know about the rare list removal. >.>
I really only come on for the monthly pets, store pets (sometimes), and the events which I still find fun.

this last sentence really hits home for me. my friend group has changed so many times on this site as people come and go, I can't even begin to count the number of people that I've considered to be my friends over the years who don't log in anymore. I miss them all so much.

I often wonder how all of my former friends are doing now. are they alright? have they accomplished their goals? are they happy? did they find that true love that they were after? I hope they are thriving.

there were also users who have passed away while I was here, like mellina. it really makes me wonder just how many of these people who stopped coming back have passed away, too. may they rest in peace, I hope they are in a better place now.

but it's not all sad — I cherish the memories that I've made here and I'm really excited to keep making more in the future with this wonderful community ♡ our shared experiences here just show how much we're all connected. hopefully we'll be able to spend many more years here together!

‘‘Twas very long ago. Probably 2010? I had a different account that I lost the log in information for, and subsequently started a new one. It was my first December 18th. I knew the pets were valuable but had no concept of what they were worth on a grand scale. I ended up either adopting or trading for a moonpup. It turned into a nonswirl- I was so excited. I remember I held an auction for it. I ended up accepting the first bid with cool pets I got for it.
I got a red Cerberus
A raven dog
And a few other spare store pets.

I found out a few weeks later that the bid had been hugely unfair to me. Recall, this was when they were valued at their advent/September’s list value. I was so crushed I remember crying on my iPod touch.

To think of how much the value of pets have changed over the years! I can’t even remember my old username to go peep at those pets. They are locked away forever, lost in time. Nowadays anyone would be happy to trade a non for a cerb or a raven.

This is my first time back in like half a year, and even in that span a lot has changed. Is the rares list gone? Some of the buttons look different on the forums. And rarities are different for most of my older pets. Going through my old 2010 guys really bring back some memories of when I first joined. This was my first internet forum, and I found chickensmoothie through howrse lmao. I havent been on there in ages, after they sold out for money. I'm glad CS hasn't sold out, and I dont think it will.

I was looking over the customs thread earlier today revisiting some of the customs. I noticed just how many old staff members haven't visited the site in a while. Some of them haven't visited in years. It sort of made me sad knowing that these people that were a staple of the site when I first joined haven't visited in so long. I looked up to a lot of the staff when I first joined. It's weird knowing they're gone.

ah i had the same feeling when i returned last year. it filled me with a sort of nostalgia. like. nothing will ever be the same ykno? weird how much of my best years were centered around this little green website. i think trying to get a little bit of that back is a big part of why im still around in the first place.

Yes, or old friends you had when you joined when you were younger (I was a kid when I joined pretty much, haha.) that may be still here but it's awkward to reintroduce yourself.

Can't believe I've been on this site for so long, some of my fondest memories!
