Sugar Gliders anyone?

Are there any other fellow sugar glider owners here? I'd love to meet you guys and become friends, it would be great to have a support group right here to talk about them with!

If not, still feel free to talk to me about Lamar, I love talking about him, I could do it forever!

He used to have a sister named Luna, but then I put my younger brother in charge of watching them for one week and long story short tragedy happened, and she's no longer with us. I cried for quite awhile.

Lamar is pretty strongly bonded to me, he definitely knows when I'm talking to him, and his name for sure. His favorite treats are marshmallows, you can make him come out from anywhere or do anything you want and he'll literally follow you step by step when you put it right in front of his nose.

He loves apples and bananas for fruit, and also really loves carrots. This morning when I woke him up for his pouch time he had a piece of a carrot wrapped really tightly all in his paw. He traded it very quickly though for the marshmallows I put in front of his nose.

Any of you guys have sugar gliders or any stories to tell?

Lamar is adorable! I hope you are able to get another sugar glider as they are very sociable and need the company of others. So sad to hear about Luna.

i really like them but doubt i'd ever own one. there's a sugar glider thread but it's pretty dead.
i'd guess a post there might revive it a bit. i could of sworn there is a marsupial thread, but i
can't seem to find it.

I really want to get one soon, I'm very worried about him! So far he seems okay, but he was with his sister from birth and I hate the idea of him suddenly not having anyone. He really has a great loving personality too, so I think he'd be easy to get bonded to another sugar glider. I'm hoping to get a nice Leucistic honestly.

I do not have a slugar glider but I wanted to own one for a while now, I was actually thinking of finding someone here who owns one just two days ago but there was no topics so it's a nice surprise to see something on here related with sugar gliders.

well, id worry about other animals, small gaps or sharp objects. also vet care must be expensive. id just be constantly paranoid about their health and whereabouts.

Oh yes, it is rather expensive. Most dogs in my experience are a bit afraid of them, but we had one that would just sit and stare at them. Never bite or attack, but just loved to sit and watch. Their health is a battle in itself as well, but once you figure it out it's really no big deal.
