honestly, from what we've seen, it depends on your lifestyle and what you want out of a snake.
corn snakes and ball pythons are both relatively small, and somewhat domesticated, so they're a little "easier" than most other snakes - plus, neither are really a threat to your health (unless you make a habit of wearing a python necklace, i guess??)
there are a LOT of misunderstandings about snake care out there, so if you decide to get one we highly recommend doing research beforehand. the biggest misunderstandings we've seen tend to revolve around cage size and enrichment - contrary to popular belief, snakes like to move around (and some species, like ball pythons, even enjoy climbing), and putting them in a restrictively small box is very cruel, as well as unhealthy for them in the long term. they need space to move around and stretch their
legs torso muscles!
also please don't live-feed them unless absolutely necessary, it's stressful for the food and may cause injury to the snake
