I stopped howling to hear a growl coming my way. I winced and backed up. I shouldn't have done that. I should have kept my snout shut so something like this didn't happen. I sniffed the air. Suddenly my foggy eyes became clear as I found out what was happening. Obviously! How could I be so stupid? It was a dog from the east pack this whole time. A tall, handsome dog appeared in my peripheral vision. I turned my head so a could see him clearly. I lifted my lowered head, and forced my tail to stop hiding below me. I stood my ground and bared myself to say "Hello".
